Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Emphasis in Landscape Horticulture
The landscape horticulture major option track will provide you with the opportunity to combine the science of horticulture and your creative abilities in creating aesthetically beautiful, inviting and functional environments. You will learn valuable skills that will provide you with the competitive edge employers are looking for.

Landscape horticulturists use the principles of design and the appropriate plant material to create both residential and commercial landscapes.

The Department offers the Organismal Biology major leading to the Bachelor of Science degree.  The curricula for this major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization. This program also provides a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions. A multitude of career opportunities now present themselves throughout the voluntary, public and private sectors as employers, employees and private citizens alike are expressing great interest in a healthier working and/or living environment. Successful graduates will provide the education and counselling necessary to help citizens lead healthier and better quality lives, while helping employers improve employee productivity through the provision of a healthier workplace environment.

Auburn University's M.S. in Mathematics program develops your content knowledge in two key ways. First, through coursework taught in small classes by internationally recognized faculty. The BS in Chemistry provides a strong background in chemistry while allowing students to specialize in areas of interest. It is especially well suited for students leaning towards medical sciences while allowing more flexibility than that allowed in the American Chemical Society-approved biochemistry curriculum. The program allows for great versatility in the junior and senior years, allowing the curriculum to be tailored to individual goals. The curriculum prepares students for professional careers in chemistry or biochemistry and advanced degree programs in chemistry, biochemistry and medically related fields.

The Global Studies in Human Sciences curriculum is designed to educate students on relevant global issues, the realities of globalization and how local and global issues are interconnected. Through required course work in the major and minor field, students will gain first-hand experience and be prepared for professional careers in the global studies field as it relates to human sciences.

The Global Studies in Human Sciences major draws on content relevant to human sciences (e.g., international nutrition, hunger and food insecurity, microlending and entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, maternal and child health, education of women and girls, global markets, goods and services, humanitarian aid and social policy) as well as the faculty expertise of the Dean’s administrative team and the three departments in the College.

Major in management and develop skills in areas such as behavioral dynamics, leadership, project management, business logistics and processes, international relations, and the management of information systems.

Natural Resources Management is the management of both people and the environment to achieve society’s goals and sustain natural systems. The Natural Resources Management major prepares the next generation of leaders with the knowledge, ability, and excellence to conserve and manage our natural systems for a sustainable future. The degree is an innovative interdisciplinary combination of social and ecosystem sciences, structured to generate critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to address the many challenges of complex natural resources issues.
