The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering provides a broad-based set of skills and knowledge that serves the needs of major sectors of the modern economy including manufacturing of consumer goods, the automotive industry, the energy sector, and the defense sector.

Most people enjoy watching movies and television, but what does it mean to study media and how it makes meaning in our society? Our Bachelor of Arts in media studies offers an in-depth approach to the study of film, television, popular music, and digital media. Our curriculum highlights the cultural and aesthetic importance of media and introduces students to critical methods of media analysis. Through screenings, lively discussions, and a range of written assignments, you'll become adept at interpreting media and understanding their power and significance. Film Genres, Audiences and Fan Cultures, Soundtracks, and Music and Media are just a few of the courses offered in our program.

The department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in medical laboratory science, chemistry, and biochemistry. The department has 24 full-time faculty members and is conducting cutting-edge research in the areas of biological chemistry, synthesis methodology, molecular recognition and detection, new material synthesis and characterization, computational chemistry, renewable energy, as well as in the traditional areas of analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. Our studio art degree is composed of one-on-one instruction in small classes and exciting courses in painting/drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, and sculpture.

The Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering provides students an opportunity to use scientific principles and engineering concepts and practices to design, build, test and operate aerospace, aviation and aeronautical systems and vehicles, including involvement in the design, development and production of vehicles for flight, both in and beyond the atmosphere.

The Department offers the Organismal Biology major leading to the Bachelor of Science degree.  The curricula for this major is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization. This program also provides a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.

Our School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences is the one of the world’s premier warm-water fisheries programs. As a student majoring in fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic sciences, you’ll receive a strong foundation in chemistry, mathematics and biology while learning how to apply these subjects to managing fresh and saltwater aquatic resources.

This degree will equip you with an understanding of the principles used in solving problems with aquatic resources and the awareness to provide safe, reliable food through aquaculture production. Graduates of this program are also prepared for veterinary medicine and other professional and graduate schools.
