What you’ll Study
The agricultural business and economics major includes a variety of courses to prepare you to enter the many different careers available in the business and agricultural industries.

In your first two years, you’ll take business courses such as Microeconomics, Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Managerial Accounting and Statistics, as well as other core courses that will provide the knowledge base necessary for your advanced agricultural economics classes. As you progress through your four years, you’ll take Agricultural Finance, Agribusiness Marketing, Agricultural Law, Resource Economics, Agricultural Business Management, Agricultural Policies and Trade, Farm Management and Agricultural Prices.

A number of professional and agricultural electives are available to help you tailor your education in specific ways. Some students choose emphases in management, marketing or finance. Others choose to train in management and decision-making at the farm level, along with the technical aspects of production agriculture.

Many in our program choose to concentrate their studies around resource scarcity and environmental and rural development issues that have become critical. Public institutions that steward and safeguard our natural and human resources are primary employers in these areas.

Our Bachelor of Arts in psychology gives you access to the latest knowledge, cutting-edge research, scientific tools, and best practices for the study of human behavior. We offer courses ranging from applied to basic psychology as well as a variety of specialty courses like sports psychology and human memory.

Our program integrates the humanities and social sciences to examine political processes, systems, and dynamics across the globe. Auburn’s Wildlife Enterprise Management (WLEM) degree is one of only two such programs in the United States.  This cross-disciplinary degree program, founded on the basic principles of wildlife management, hospitality services, and business management, ensures that graduates are prepared for employment at any of thousands of hunting and fishing lodges, ranches, corporate retreat facilities, and other consumptive use facilities worldwide.

The degree is collaboratively taught by world-renowned faculty from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences and the Colleges of Business and Human Sciences.  With this program, students gain the necessary skill set required of graduates and access to a wide range of internship opportunities across the globe. Economics is the study of how individuals, businesses, governments, and societies make decisions concerning the use and distribution of resources. It is the central science underlying business and public policies.

Our Bachelor of Science in economics emphasizes a broad understanding of how consumers' and producers' behavior is influenced by certain events—such as changes in interest rates or new government regulations. We offer two tracks of study. The primary track allows you to choose a minor to complement your study of economics and advance your career goals. Political science, finance, business administration, and foreign languages are common choices. The quantitative track is a specialized program designed to prepare you for graduate education in economics.

Our Bachelor of Arts in public administration will prepare you for success in public service. You’ll develop the skills needed to assume major leadership roles in local, state, and national governments, community service groups, and non-profit organizations.

You’ll learn editing and document design practices, linguistic and rhetorical analyses, and writing for specialized audiences. You’ll work with real clients both inside and outside of the university and develop a professional portfolio.

The BA curriculum in Chemistry provides a strong background in chemistry while allowing students to specialize in areas of interest. It is especially well suited for students leaning towards medical sciences while allowing more flexibility than that allowed in the American Chemical Society approved biochemistry curriculum. The program allows for great versatility in the junior and senior years, allowing the curriculum to be tailored to individual goals. The curriculum prepares students for professional careers in chemistry or biochemistry and advanced degree programs in chemistry, biochemistry and medically related fields.
