This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to participate in the environmental community in areas such as federal and local environmental regulations, land use planning, soil and water conservation, coastal restoration, and agricultural management.

Resource Conservation: Learn about the chemical, physical, and biological properties of soils, soil and water conservation and associated federal programs, coastal restoration, soil/plant relationships, fundamentals of forestry, wildlife and agricultural management, land use planning soil and water assessment and remediation principles, and ecological risk assessment.

Study everything from the chemistry of groundwater to seismic interpretation of Earth’s subsurface. You can also enjoy a six-week field course at LSU’s field camp in the Rocky Mountains. A degree in geology from LSU will prepare you for a graduate degree program or a career in the energy or environmental industries.

Geophysics
This concentration focuses on the physics of the Earth and its environment with added emphasis on mathematics and physics.

Establish a solid foundation for your career by focusing on the drivers of marketing, including the trends that cause existing and new markets to develop. • Latin America: The concentration in Latin America focuses on the history, folklore, culture, and literature of Latin America and the Caribbean. The close proximity of this region to the United States and our long history of interactions with the area make it a very important area for U.S. foreign policy and for American commercial interests. The stark disparities of economic conditions and environmental endowments across the Americas draw attention to the need for sustainable development.

In this major, you can study political topics ranging from healthcare reform to international diplomacy. Through this exploration, you will develop knowledge and analytical skills that can help you succeed in a career in public policy, city management, and law.
