The MA in Middle School Education prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of children in middle school classrooms. This intensive, field-based program prepares candidates to work democratically with diverse children and families, including those with special needs and second language backgrounds. It leads to Illinois teaching credentials in the areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Prepare for your life as a writer in Chicago’s thriving literary community. MFA students complete a book-length manuscript of publishable quality and receive intensive faculty mentorship and support throughout the process. Students develop a specialty and sub-specialty in fiction and nonfiction (or vice versa) and work in any prose tradition, including the novel and long-form nonfiction. While all our students are distinguished by the quality of their writing and their dedication to craft, some of them arrive on campus knowing exactly what they plan to work on, while others take advantage of the room to explore. Our curriculum allows students to thrive in either approach.

A graduate degree track offered in collaboration between Roosevelt University and the Music Institute of Chicago, the Master of Music Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy is available to qualified violinists, violists, cellists and flutists. The degree combines advanced performance and academic studies with in-depth studies of Suzuki Education and development of teaching skills through observations, practicum and apprentice teaching. Also offered is a Certificate in Suzuki Pedagogy, designed for skilled musicians who already have or are not interested in pursuing a master’s degree, but have a strong interest in teaching as a vocation and commitment to Suzuki Education.

Established in 1984 to serve and support Chicago's number one industry, the Manfred Steinfeld undergraduate program is a premier four-year hospitality program in Illinois. Named for Manfred Steinfeld, the program's benefactor and chairman and former CEO of Shelby Williams Industries, the Roosevelt program seeks to produce leaders and innovators in hospitality and tourism management. With Chicago as our campus, the curriculum is implemented by an experienced faculty and staff from the nation's hospitality, event planning and tourism industries. Students include a lively mix of entering freshmen, transfer students and a representative international population.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biology is an option for students who want an in-depth humanistic education in biology without completing all of the science and mathematics courses required for the BS in Biology. The biology BA allows students the flexibility to fashion a customized undergraduate experience; for example, completing a double-major or multiple minors.
