The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders houses the Communication Disorders Clinic, located in Research Park. The clinic provides services for individuals with communication impairments in Central Florida, while also giving students hands-on experience in the field.

The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida is located in the heart of the theme park capital of the world – Orlando, Florida.  Orlando is home to eight major theme parks and four themed water parks.  In addition, there are dozens of smaller attractions that feature a variety of unique themes.  Rosen College has capitalized on this location to develop the world’s only program dedicated to theme park and attraction management.  As part of our Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management, students are able to take a series of courses in a specialized track of study for those interested in careers in the theme park and attractions industry.

The Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences undergraduate programs offers five Bachelor’s degree and one track option. These thorough, but flexible undergraduate programs provides excellent preparation for graduate education in the life sciences, professional degree programs, or specialized skill set in medical laboratory sciences.

Students completing the Forensic Science - Chemistry Track B.S. degree will also meet the requirements for ACS certification. This track is designed to allow students the flexibility to prepare for multiple careers in forensics through selection of restricted elective courses. Students should be advised that background checks similar to those required for law enforcement officers are likely to be a condition of employment (Reference: NIJ Report NCJ 203099).

Restaurant & Foodservice Management (BS) may be completed fully online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees. The Bachelor of Arts in Art – History offers undergraduate students specific knowledge about art and architecture from prehistory to the present. The curriculum provides a foundation for the understanding of art, in all of its various forms, and encourages the development of visual literacy. Contextual, as well as stylistic approaches, provide exposure to different methodologies involved in the study of visual material. A broad range of courses foster critical thinking, multicultural awareness, and provide art historical skills that lead to an understanding of image making and the power and function of images.

The Journalism B.A. provides students with the skills and knowledge leading to careers in electronic and digital media. It is a limited-access degree program, which means a separate application must be submitted directly to the Nicholson School of Communication and Media in order to be considered for admission. Students choose from two focus areas:

• Digital News. For students who wish to work as writers, reporters, editors and photographers for the news media, primarily websites, newspapers and magazines.
• Electronic News. For students who desire to work in broadcast news as reporters, photographers, anchors or broadcast sports journalists.

The Bachelor of Arts Degree is designed to offer a thorough foundation in theatre while providing flexibility and opportunity for interdisciplinary study with a required minor. The strength of this program is in the opportunity to combine theatre training with the secondary area of study to create career opportunities in theatre and the entertainment industry. Students find direct career paths and a boost in the job market through the combination of major and minor. Students are open to selecting any minor or second major offered within the University. Upon graduation, students choose to enter the job market or pursue advanced education with a skill set unique to their goals.

The BA in Emergency Management prepares you to become a future emergency management leader through providing a well-rounded curriculum that covers the fundamental skills, theoretical understanding and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry. Your coursework will offer a deeper understanding about how to support organizations and communities in the preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery efforts of disaster situations while emphasizing ethical decision making, resilience and social responsibility.

As an emergency management major, you’ll be required to complete a minor. Many students choose from areas such as public administration, urban and regional planning and nonprofit management. You may also select a minor outside of the School of Public Administration that has been approved by the undergraduate program coordinator. Emergency management classes are offered face-to-face at UCF Downtown, mixed-mode and online. This offers you the flexibility and convenience you need to balance school, work and life.
