Our major combines a biomedical science-focused curriculum, a local or international medical experience, and a self-designed plan of study to include a minor or other courses of interest that prepare our graduates for entry into professional schools.

UD has one of the top five MS in Electro-Optics programs in the U.S. As a graduate student, you’ll work with award-winning faculty, and you can expect hands-on training and a significant choice of electives to customize your education.

Spanish is the second-largest native language in the world, the second language used for international communication, and the third most used language on the Internet. Having a Spanish credential will make you more attractive to employers in many fields across the U.S. and around the globe.

We view an engineer as a well-rounded person with technical skills and a human-centered mindset. Our faculty and staff mentor our students for successful careers in mechanical engineering that align with personal interests by bringing state-of-the-art research and modern engineering challenges into the classroom. Along with a high retention rate through graduation, we engage students through experiential learning, and we have an extremely high job and graduate school placement rate. As a UD Foreign Language Education major, you'll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of our changing and global world — and prepare others to do the same. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to teach French, German or Spanish to students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. 

There is more than one way to start an engineering career. If you are a hands-on person who enjoys learning by doing, engineering technology may be the pathway for you to become an engineer. Our Mechanical Engineering Technology program offers technical courses that teach you to use creativity and rational thinking to solve problems in design, manufacturing and management, as well as science and mathematics courses that provide you a solid foundation for future studies or career development.

With our small class sizes, faculty members with real-world engineering experience, and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, we utilize hands-on learning to equip students with applied engineering knowledge and skills. Career opportunities for mechanical engineering technology graduates are in mechanical design, computer-aided design, product evaluation and development, manufacturing engineering, computer-aided manufacturing, plant engineering, technical sales, technical service, fluid power, automation, and technical management.

A solid music curriculum combined with an arts and sciences education provides students the ability and flexibility to pursue their interests and prepare for their career.

The issues facing us today are increasingly global in nature. The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.
