The M.A. degree provides students with an intensive study of the different fields, theories, and research methods in contemporary political science. Two options are offered: One, which requires a written thesis, is for students primarily interested in political science research; the other, which replaces the thesis with a written comprehensive examination, is for students who are more concerned with the practical application of their political science expertise.

The master’s graduate program in the School of Journalism and New Media offers three tracks: academic, professional, and Integrated Marketing Communications.

M.A. students without academic or professional background in journalism may be required to pursue a course of study that combines undergraduate and graduate journalism courses.

The Master of Taxation & Data Analytics program offers specialization in both taxation and data analytics. A Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Ole Miss prepares students for allied health and fitness professions by studying contemporary issues and trends in the application of exercise for weight management, cardiopulmonary health, maintenance of functional movement, and the application of exercise science to athletic performance.

The B.S.E.S. degree program is designed for students entering allied health and fitness professions. With the degree, careers as health and fitness directors within private, municipal, corporate, and hospital- based fitness and health promotion centers are available. Students completing the B.S. degree often continue their education in exercise science, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, and other health- related graduate programs.

The Ole Miss Hospitality Management program prepares students to handle a wide array of needs across the hospitality industry. Valuable hands-on experiences enables students to receive the academic foundation and practical experience needed to be successful after graduation.

Students who complete the program in hospitality management choose among many of the job settings in the growing hospitality industry, such as restaurants and food-service operations, hotels and other lodging facilities, event companies, resorts, casinos, entertainment centers, convention centers, travel firms, and visitor bureaus.

The M.S. in engineering science is offered in a number of emphasis areas: aeroacoustics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computational hydroscience, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, electromagnetics, environmental engineering, geology, geological engineering, hydrology, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, and telecommunications.

A M.S. in engineering science with emphasis in geological engineering prepares a student with advanced technical knowledge and communication skills for pursuing a career in industry, engineering research and development, public service, or for doctoral work.
