In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology programs, you’ll learn psychological theories and research methodologies, as well as gain an understanding of both scientific and applied psychology. As you work towards your bachelors’ degree in Psychology, you’ll design and conduct psychological research studies and learn how to read and analyze scientific data.

Your bachelors’ degree in Psychology coursework focuses on theories, experimental and statistical work, and laboratory and fieldwork, allowing you to gain hands-on research experience. You’ll have the opportunity to work with faculty members on research projects, as well as develop and conduct your own research projects through our independent study program.

Psychology (BS) program

You’ll choose from one of three concentrations: a General concentration, a Cognitive Neuroscience concentration, and a Healthcare concentration. These concentrations require you to take advanced courses through the Biology, Chemistry, and/or Mathematics departments. Students in the Cognitive Neuroscience program may declare a minor in Biology. Bachelor's degree in Psychology students may meet pre-health requirements while earning their degree. To ensure success, students in the Healthcare concentration are part of DePaul’s Pre-Health/Pre-Med Advising program.

DePaul offers combined degree programs such as a combined bachelor’s + master’s degree in Psychology and Secondary Education Social Sciences, allowing you to complete a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree in as few as five years.

DePaul’s Physical Education (P.E.) degree program will prepare you to pursue a career in teaching physical education in schools from kindergarten through high school.

The P.E. program prepares you to teach children in a variety of urban and suburban educational settings, including both public and private elementary and high schools. You’ll learn theoretical principles of education, teaching techniques and curriculum development. Through our physical education degree program, you’ll also participate in field experiences in local schools and student teach in order to gain hands-on experience.

The master’s in Digital Communication and Media Arts (DCMA) will give you the technical skills and tools to effectively navigate the digital communication landscape. This flexible program allows you to tailor your coursework across interests such as branding, content strategy, social media, data-driven marketing, media literacy, documentary production and design.

This interdisciplinary degree program is offered through the College of Communication and the College of Computing and Digital Media; you’ll take courses in Public Relations and Advertising, Journalism, Media and Cinema Studies, and Digital Communication.

The MA in Animation degree provides a combination of artistic and technical training that prepares students for a future in 3D character animation, traditional animation, computer game art, or visual effects.

Motion Graphics
Motion Graphics, sometimes known as Motion Design, involves putting graphic forms, text, and photographic elements into motion using the principles of animation. These are almost always paired with sound and music for a specific purpose, such as in advertisements, educational and industrial videos, films and television titles, visual effects, and video games. Our Hospitality Leadership program will prepare you for a management career in a variety of hospitality industry segments, including hotels, restaurants, private clubs, meetings and events. Hospitality majors here benefit from a program that balances hospitality leadership courses with core business curriculum.

As a hospitality major, you’ll have access to the school’s J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Center for Student Development and Engagement. This center connects you with industry leaders, school alumni and students, and offers you highly-specialized career preparation and leadership development. The center is also available as a resource to help you successfully complete two internships, which are a requirement of the Hospitality Leadership program.

The Sports Communication program will prepare you for career opportunities in the sports industry. As you work towards your degree in Sports Communication, you’ll learn to view sports as a business, and how companies and sports organizations communicate and manage relationships with their fans, sponsors and the media.

As a Sports Communication major, you’ll take College of Communication and Driehaus College of Business courses, which will provide you with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills that link communication and business theory.

Living in Chicago, you’ll have access to world class media and global sports organizations such as the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox. During coursework for your degree in Sports Communication, you’ll be introduced to a vast array of sports communication pros, many of whom are DePaul alums and can help you gain valuable internship experience.

The Bachelor of Arts in Data Science program offers a curriculum that focuses on developing analytical and technical skills necessary for analyzing massive amounts of data and extracting information from complex data sources.

As a data science major you will learn how to collect and analyze data, how to determine which tools and techniques are best for data collection and how to design programs in a variety of computer languages involving data processes.

The master's in Health Informatics provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to implement and support information technology solutions for health sector organizations. Graduates will obtain technical knowledge and management skills for the design and support of IT systems and will develop a deep understanding of health IT processes to support health care delivery and management. Graduates will also gain knowledge in the areas of health information management including health information processing and exchange, health care analytics, enterprise management and information storage and security management.

Gain an understanding of the history of philosophy, philosophical issues regarding law, medicine and business, as well as the basic problems posed by diverse thinkers. You will also develop analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills while analyzing both the humanistic and technical features of philosophy.

Regardless of your career goals, a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy will provide you with excellent tools and skills in critical thinking, analyzing content from various perspectives, and verbal and written communication. You will learn to form arguments and take a position on an issue.
