The Women’s and Gender Studies degree program focuses on examining women’s and men’s identities and experiences in relation to gender, race, class and culture. Its curriculum addresses issues of power and resistance and connects feminist theories and research to public policy and social justice.

Classes focus on feminist and social justice theory with an emphasis on agency, social responsibility, advocacy and activism. You’ll develop strong writing and critical thinking skills and learn to make connections between theory and real-world practice.

From Kant to Mann to Merkel, dive into canonical texts or explore modern German culture and language. The flexible MA in German is ideal for both those who wish to pursue careers in translation, teaching or cultural institutions and for those who are preparing for an academic career.

Our Real Estate degree program will prepare you to work and excel in the real estate community at the local and national levels, and to adapt to future changes in the industry.

As a Real Estate major, you’ll strengthen your financial and analytical skills, including risk analysis, portfolio construction and management, cash flow analysis and investment strategy. As you work towards your degree, you’ll gain an understanding of the organizational structure of financial institutions and the impact of financial markets on real estate. You’ll also examine how historical development of real estate impacts present and future development patterns.

Through our MS in Environmental Science program, you’ll gain the conservation land management skills and tools necessary to succeed in a wide range of environmentally focused careers.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

In our Cybersecurity program, you’ll learn the fundamentals of information security, security infrastructure design and implementation, computer forensics, risk assessment and the impact of security requirements on business operations.

Throughout your cybersecurity degree coursework, you’ll learn to design, implement and manage various security infrastructure components. You’ll gain real-world experience by using DePaul’s state-of-the-art Security Laboratory, which includes multi-vendor firewalls, virtual private networks (VPN), intrusion detection and prevention systems, routers, switches, security scanners and event correlation systems.

The data science master’s will provide you with the technical knowledge and advanced computational skills to meet emerging challenges in big data analytics. With on-campus and online classroom learning formats, you can launch a career in data science with extraordinary faculty members—anytime, anywhere. Our online learning program replicates the classroom experience with 100 percent access to software, faculty advisors, career services, and a large network of alumni. Marketing
Some courses are available online. The Marketing concentration is designed for data science master’s students who want to combine strong technical skills in analytics with competency in marketing analytics and customer relationship management. You’ll learn how to extract information from data to support business decision making and marketing decisions.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Diplomacy and Migration
The Diplomacy and Migration concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices--such as mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy and leadership—to the pressing challenges posed by forced migration. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy into conversation with the disciplines of history, forced migration studies, human rights law, public health, and international relations.

The Japanese Studies program focuses on Japanese language, literature and culture. More than 130 million people speak Japanese across the world. You will explore Japanese culture and society through an interdisciplinary approach.

Fluency in Japanese and an understanding of Japanese culture will prepare you for professional success in for a variety of careers, such as business, arts, diplomacy, media and education.

As a Japanese major, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in DePaul’s Study Abroad programs in programs in Kyoto, Nagoya or Osaka, where you’ll strengthen your linguistic skills and become immersed in Japanese culture.
