Hospitality
Some courses are available online. The Hospitality concentration addresses the increasing demand of data scientists that combine the computational skills to extract information from massive amounts of data with the competency in hospitality revenue analytics and optimization. The focus of this concentration is to teach data science master’s students the analytics needs and challenges of the hospitality and tourism industry.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry program will provide you with the fundamentals of chemical theory and practice through scientific investigation, laboratory experience and research opportunities.

As a chemistry major will have multiple opportunities to gain hands-on research experience working with chemistry faculty members conducting research projects funded through government, foundation and industry grants. Being in Chicago also allows those pursuing a BA or BS in Chemistry to attend many scientific conferences hosted in the city throughout the year.

In addition to a variety of combined degree programs, we offer a combined bachelor’s + master’s degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education Chemistry, allowing you to complete a bachelor’s and a graduate degree in as few as five years.

The Master of Science in Game Programming is designed for those interested in game development programming at the highest level, including real time computing, computer graphics, and professional retooling for the game industry. Students will learn about software engineering, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, animation, software architecture, and networking. The game programming degree addresses the real-world needs of industry through special, topic-based classes. Courses are taught with a mixture of theory and applied practice. Covering both emerging trends and proven knowledge, the program's content is always relevant and current. This combination of approaches allows students to understand the connection between realized applied systems and issues they'll likely face professionally in years to come.

DePaul's graduate Computer Science program is the premier training ground for computing professionals in the Chicago area. Unlike a certificate program, our master's courses focus on fundamental concepts that remain constant, even as technology changes rapidly. Unlike more research focused institutions, however, our courses emphasize the programmatic application of these fundamental concepts. Students interested in research will find an abundance of advanced topics—medical imaging, data mining, algorithmic analysis, and scientific computing, to name a few.

DePaul’s history program is designed to help you engage in developing a critical understanding of the past, as well as its impact on the present and the future.

The bachelor’s degree in history curriculum combines a breadth of chronological and geographical areas. Courses examine history in the Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe. Through the program, you’ll learn how to conduct research and communicate effectively (individually and in teams), develop writing skills and analyze sources.

Chicago is a historically rich city, providing you immense opportunity to take your learning outside the classroom. As you earn your bachelor’s degree in History, you’ll be encouraged to do an internship and work with faculty on research initiatives.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

The MS in Cybersecurity is intended for students who wish to specialize in the security aspects of the Information Technology field. This program educates professionals for the fast growing and wide ranging information security and cybersecurity markets by providing foundations in the theory of information security as well as knowledge needed to properly design, implement, and manage secured IT infrastructure and risks in an enterprise. Common career areas include Computer Forensics, Incident Response, Network Security Administration, Risk Assessment, and Web Development.

Governance, Risk Management and Compliance
This concentration focuses on enterprise-level information security risk management, IT audit, and regulatory compliance. Using a cross-disciplinary approach, focus is put on how to develop an information security program; assess security risk in business processes; identify and implement a system of controls for security governance and regulatory compliance; plan and conduct IT audits; and develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
