The Biochemistry B.S. Program is designed for students pursuing careers in biochemistry and related disciplines, such as molecular biology, biophysics, and pharmacology. Additionally, premedical students who wish to pursue a research-oriented curriculum might be interested in this program.

From its origins as an interdepartmental program in film studies, the program in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies is currently home to roughly ___ majors. Our majors study the relationships between different forms of cinema and digital media through a well-rounded sequence that spans film studies, media studies, digital film production, and computer animation. The Studio Art Program offers diverse and challenging programs of study that emphasize the development of each student’s intellectual and artistic vision and goals. The program is dedicated to preparing practicing studio artists to participate in a dynamic art world. Students are given rigorous training in the foundations of art, as well as in ways to explore new and innovative questions, theories and ideas that drive art today. Majors are expected to explore the variety and breadth of contemporary art practice. These concentrated studio and seminar experiences are supplemented with field trips, visiting artist lectures, and critiques in order to help students begin to develop their own interests and projects as artists. At the advanced levels, students benefit from evaluation in individual and group critique sessions of their work, seminars, field trips, guest artists, lectures by curators and critics, and exhibition opportunities. These experiences prepare the studio major for advanced study and a career in art.

The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters is the home to the Jewish Studies academic degree program. The program is interdisciplinary and interdepartmental with an academic foundation in Hebrew language and Jewish culture offered by core faculty members from across the college.

The program promotes the academic study of Jewish culture, society and religion for all students at the University. Through the Jewish Studies Program, students may train for a career in the Jewish community or in Jewish education, learn about Jewish issues and opportunities for Jewish public service, and develop a deeper understanding of American and world Jewry, as well as enhancing a degree in the humanities or social sciences with a minor or a degree in Jewish Studies.

Through course work, students may study areas such as Jewish Civilization, History, Israel, Holocaust Studies, Arts and Culture, Religion, Politics and Social Issues. Undergraduates may major or receive a certificate in Jewish studies. The program may serve as preparation for graduate work in Jewish studies, as background for a career in Jewish education or community service, or as an area of special interest that will enrich the undergraduate experience. Students may combine the Jewish Studies major or minor with other majors and go on to professional careers in law, medicine, journalism, business or other professions. Moreover, since dynamic contact with many other religions and cultures influenced the development of Jewish civilization, students study Jews and Judaism within the broader context of dominant societies and the spectrum of the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

The center promotes a broad and comprehensive approach including the arts, politics and religion. The curriculum emphasizes historical transformations and comparative frameworks among various Jewish communities and with other groups and religions.

The Bachelor of Public Management is designed to provide a broad understanding of the administrative structures and functions found in public sector organizations. In addition to equipping students with foundation skills relevant to work in public sector organizations, the B.P.M. encourages study in related areas such as architecture, business, criminal justice, political science, psychology, social work, and urban and regional planning. In this way, students have an opportunity to adapt their programs of study to fit their own academic and career interests.

Computer engineering focuses on system, software and hardware aspects of computing, and includes programming and software engineering. Students learn about electronics, logic design, computer design and architecture, microprocessors, design automation, operating systems, and software engineering. Computer engineer's career opportunities are limitless and include working in the computer industry or with companies that integrate computers into more complex products.
