The prestigious Roosevelt School’s Bachelor of Arts in International Relations & Diplomacy prepares graduates for domestic and international leadership positions. The International Relations and Diplomacy’s vibrant curriculum engages students in a comprehensive examination of international politics, negotiation and leadership. The Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics prepares graduates for rewarding careers as nutritionists, dietitians, wellness experts, food service managers, and community counselors. The four-year, 120-credit program provides students with a basic liberal arts and strong science education, and the knowledge required to understand nutrition. Students take courses in biology, chemistry and statistics and master such subjects as normal nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, institutional food service management, cultural and social aspects of food, energy and exercise, and food technology. The program also prepares students to apply their knowledge of nutrition to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices among individuals and groups as well as those with special nutritional needs. The goal of the program is to develop a graduate who meets the foundation knowledge and skills required by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

LIU Global offers a BA degree in Global Studies, a discipline that investigates the world’s interdependent political, economic, cultural, and ecological systems. Global Studies equips future leaders with tools to address challenges that transcend national and disciplinary boundaries, preparing them to develop solutions at the local, national, regional, and global levels. The Department of Teaching and Learning offers a highly respected dual undergraduate major in health education and physical education that prepares you to teach both disciplines in elementary, middle and high schools. The redesigned 127-credit 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in the Health Education and Physical Education program will provide you with greater career flexibility and will lead to New York State Initial Teaching Certification in two distinct disciplines.

Students in the program learn effective techniques of classroom management, curriculum design, and lesson planning for children in Kindergarten through Grade 12.  Liberal arts courses in biology equip you with knowledge in human anatomy and physiology.

The Health Education component examines nutrition, health care services, sexuality and family planning, personal well-being, and drugs in contemporary society. You will learn how to encourage children and teenagers, in a non-judgmental approach, to discuss their experiences, attitudes and values related to health issues.

The Physical Education portion shows you how to create a program that motivates children and adolescents to stay fit. You will learn how to organize movement activities, create rules and regulations, conduct lessons that allow for maximum practice opportunity, analyze student performance and identify sports-related injuries.

In both disciplines, you will gain extensive field-based experience through methods classes and student teaching in local school districts.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science provides you with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to design and develop complex software systems. The Sports Management program trains students in all aspects of sports management and places them at the doorstep of the most successful and lucrative businesses in the sports world. Students will study a variety of disciplines, including business, marketing, communications and management, and will gain industry-specific skills, such as representation, administration, branding, event planning, and public relations.

The Master of Science in Nutrition prepares students to assume leadership positions in the nutrition field. The program is designed to enhance professional qualifications as a food and nutrition specialist. Challenging courses for the advanced study of nutrition are provided. The student chooses various electives to complement a core curriculum of nutrition science, research methods, biomedical statistics as well as communication, education and counseling skills. A choice of challenging electives enables students to pursue individual interests. Students also complete a research project as a culminating experience of the degree.

LIU Post is one of the few programs in the country that offers entry-level bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology and has been a provider of education in diagnostic imaging since 1973. Radiologic technologists operate x-ray and digital imaging machines, digital mammography equipment, computed tomography (CT scan) machines, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to provide physicians with images of the skeletal system, organs, tissues and other vessels of the body—important diagnostic tests that help doctors detect and treat illness and injury. The B.S. in Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

To prepare the workforce of the future, the 30- credit M.S. in Artificial Intelligence (AI) aims to educate and train skilled leaders to create AI applications and AI systems that are designed to solve complex real-world challenges and problems across many industry domains. The purpose of the program is to achieve this latter goal while addressing the emerging needs of the market. Additionally, the new program, with its faculty and students, aims to accelerate multidisciplinary research and discovery in LIU emerging signature areas: health, pharmaceutics, pharmacological engineering, bioinformatics, and business among others. The program will create new opportunities for research and economic development.
