The College of Management (COM) at LIU Post offers a new, 30-credit, specialized Master of Science in Data Analytics and Strategic Business Intelligence program (MDA) with a blend of data science, IT, and business courses to prepare students for the demand in industries for data-literate managers and data scientists with solid business knowledge and analytical skills.

The MDA program is designed for recent graduates or working professionals in their early or mid-career phases.  The ideal student should have basic quantitative and IT knowledge and skills through prior coursework or working experience, and be highly motivated to learn how to deal with data as a strategic asset and apply IT and analytic methods to make data-driven business decisions.

The 120-credit Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology will prepare you for a career helping people of all ages overcome communication disorders—from young children who stutter to stroke victims struggling to speak again.

Along with a comprehensive liberal arts education, the curriculum offers coursework in normal and disordered communication. Students observe adults and children with speech and/or language disorders in community-based settings. A limited field-based experience may also be available to qualified students. Graduates of this program are ready to advance to master’s-level study and work toward a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association, as well as New York State licensure and certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).

The Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and minor program offer students unique access to the exciting, high-powered fashion industry.

Instructed by industry experts, the Fashion Merchandising curriculum integrates an experiential learning component through our student-run clothing boutique, The Student Body, where you will contribute to the retail store’s success by helping to choose inventory, manage operations, and advertise to the campus community. Secure internship positions at top locations such as Long Island’s luxurious Americana Manhasset shopping center and other top destinations.

Through the study of English, students learn to evaluate sensibilities both past and present, acquiring a profound knowledge of their own humanity and of the human condition in general. The study of English helps develop fluency of expression, skill in logical analysis, and facility in planning, organizing, and revising.

Undergraduate and graduate programs in English with a concentration in literature offers you an opportunity to explore the world around you and enduring issues of identity, morality, spirituality, and material success through the great minds of Western civilization.

The writing concentration explores various forms of creative expression through course work in literature, creative writing and non-fiction writing. Students pursuing this concentration have the opportunity to take courses in “Academic Writing” (expository, argumentative, creative writing), “Performance Writing” (screenplays, teleplays), “Writing for the Marketplace” (business, public relations), and “Rhetorical Theory” (ancient and modern).

As an art major you will study with professional artists and leading scholars, as well as visiting guest artists from around the world. You will build a solid foundation in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and printmaking, while exploring the history and theory of human creativity in courses that range from the arts of the ancient Near East and the Mediterranean to contemporary photography and digital design. Art Foundations are required of all freshmen in the program, where concepts and practices in two- and three-dimensional art forms are examined. As a junior you will choose one or more of the studio arts as your concentration; as a senior you will work with a faculty advisor in preparing a B.F.A. exhibition of works in your chosen art media.

LIU Global offers a BA degree in Global Studies, a discipline that investigates the world’s interdependent political, economic, cultural, and ecological systems. Global Studies equips future leaders with tools to address challenges that transcend national and disciplinary boundaries, preparing them to develop solutions at the local, national, regional, and global levels. LIU Global organizes its curriculum around six issues that pose the greatest challenges to human wellbeing:

As an economics major, you will learn how to create plans to forecast and address societal issues such as unemployment, inflation and environmental maintenance. Cutting-edge courses teach you the latest strategies and resources in economics, including microeconomic analysis, statistics and business trends in marketing, finance, information technologies, money and banking, public finance and taxation, economics and the law, government spending, and labor management.

The Department of Biomedical, Health and Nutritional Sciences prepares students to become knowledgeable professionals dedicated to the highest standards of science and health care.

The MS Program in Biomedical Sciences offers a curriculum well suited to those who wish to work in a research laboratory, individuals seeking acceptance into post-graduate professional schools (e.g., medical or dental school) and students seeking a career in basic science research who are planning to continue in doctoral programs. Students are taught by expert faculty specializing in the fields of microbiology, hematology, immunology and clinical biochemistry. Students may join the laboratories of faculty and acquire excellent research experience.

The Sports Management program trains students in all aspects of sports management and places them at the doorstep of the most successful and lucrative businesses in the sports world. Students will study a variety of disciplines, including business, marketing, communications and management, and will gain industry-specific skills, such as representation, administration, branding, event planning, and public relations.

The Bachelor of Science in Music is for students who desire a strong music program, together with a well-rounded liberal arts education. Our 120-credit curriculum combines practical music instruction, including private lessons; classes in music theory and music history; elective credits that can be used toward your chosen music concentration; and traditional liberal arts courses in science, history, literature, economics, political science, philosophy and foreign languages.
