Undergraduate International Pathway Program (3-Semester) - Bachelor of Arts in Communication

The atmospheric science faculty seeks to provide a high quality educational experience for students majoring in atmospheric science in preparation for industrial or government positions, and for graduate study. The program is also designed for those planning to teach environmental science or physics at the 8-12 level, or who need atmospheric science knowledge and skills relevant to future studies in the sciences.

The student who wishes to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Science may do so by following one of the two curriculum plans referred to as concentrations:

• Atmospheric Science
• Weather Broadcasting

The Bachelor of Science program in Atmospheric Sciences addresses the needs of students interested in studying meteorology or climate science. The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the physical characteristics, motions and processes of air; as well as the interactions of this protective layer with the underlying oceans and continents. The undergraduate program emphasizes a systems approach, combining traditional atmospheric sciences with emerging fields. In particular, the program focuses on the fields of tropical meteorology and oceanography that are directly linked to the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding coastal regions where the university is strategically located.

The International Year is a 1-semester program, equivalent to a year's study of a bachelor's degree. This program has been specially designed to prepare international students for an undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Mechanical Engineering Technology
The Engineering Technology Council of the American Society for Engineering Education defines Engineering Technology as the profession in which knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences gained by higher education, experience, and practices is devoted primarily to the implementation and extension of existing technology for the benefit of humanity. Engineering technology focuses on the applied aspects of science and engineering to prepare graduates for practice in product improvement, manufacturing, and engineering operational functions. Engineering technologists are suited for industries that deal with application, manufacturing, implementation, engineering operation, sales, and production.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of engineering technology. You’ll also be able to solve problems using technical and hands-on skills and apply their knowledge in the design, manufacture, sales, installation, operation and/or maintenance of complex, high-value systems.

The Master's degree in Communication at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is designed for individuals who seek career advancement in communication positions, or who aspire to enroll in a doctoral program. Students in the Master's in Communication program can specialize in Organizational Leadership or Strategic Communication.

All three tracks consist of courses designed to enhance students' knowledge of communication principles, theories, and research in the track topic area and develop proficiency as writers, researchers, and critical decision makers. The program is designed to provide students with a quality experience that will help them grow as individuals, scholars, professionals, and citizens.

The master's degree in Communication at TAMU-CC prepares students to use theories and principles, gather and use data, and think critically to made decisions and solve real-world problem. The program aims to help students achieve their personal and professional goals by providing rich opportunities to attend academic conferences, participate in research, complete internships, and assist in teaching undergraduate courses. The knowledgeable, well-published faculty work to challenge students to become critical consumers and producers of knowledge.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree prepares individuals for the responsibilities of management in a wide variety of business and non-business endeavors. Program length is approximately one year of full-time study for a student with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

The goal of the MBA program is to prepare individuals for the responsibilities of management in a wide variety of business and non-business endeavors. Optional concentrations are available, by taking additional hours, in Accounting, Finance, Health Care Administration, and International Business.

Geology
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. The mission of the geology program is to provide integrated and process-oriented curricula, based on fundamental scientific principles and processes that enable graduates to pursue challenging careers and maintain lifelong learning. In addition, our program is designed to serve majors from geographic information science, environmental science, as well as science students in other fields who are interested in adding to their knowledge of the Earth and planetary system.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you will be provided with a broad background in the natural sciences, typically with an equal foundation in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology, in addition to the geology-specific courses.

Chemistry
The Chemistry faculty seeks to provide a high-quality educational experience for students majoring in chemistry in preparation for industrial or government positions, for graduate study, and for entry to medical or dental schools. The program is also designed for those planning to teach chemistry or physics at the 7-12 level, or who need chemical knowledge and skills relevant to future studies in the sciences. The student who wishes to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry may do so by following one of the four curriculum plans referred to as Concentrations. The options include general, environmental, biochemistry, and physical science education concentrations. Students who are pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, or pre-veterinary medicine may follow the biochemistry concentration. In addition, the biochemistry concentration offers an option which would allow students to pursue certification in clinical chemistry while obtaining their Bachelors in Chemistry.

Within this program, you’ll gain a broad understanding of chemical concepts. You’ll also understand a variety of chemical data. As part of this degree, you’ll perfect your communication skills regarding chemical information in oral and written form, with appropriate use of technology.

Public Administration focuses on the application of Public Administration theory and concepts in real world situations. The program focuses on the management of critical issues in our three tracks:

• Public Management
• Public Safety
• Healthcare Administration
• Non-profit Management

The MPA has been designed to meet the needs of full-time employees wishing to earn their degree through part-time study. Students in the program will take a core of seven courses in order to increase their understanding of administrative theory, policy making, data analysis, public budgeting and finance, and human resource management.

Computer Science
The computer science degree program is applied in nature and is designed to prepare students to begin or advance computing careers in business, industry, government, or education, or to pursue further study in computer science. The curriculum is thorough, current, and oriented toward the technical competencies required of a modern computer professional with an emphasis on the development, evaluation, and integration of software systems.

What Will I Learn
Within this program, you’ll analyze a complex computing problem, and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions. You’ll also design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline. As apart of this degree, you will be able to communicate effectively, make informed judgments and function as a member or leader within computer science team using theory and software development fundamentals to produce solutions.
