Troy University’s undergraduate psychology program allows students the opportunity to earn their degree in the classroom, online or a combination of both from our highly-educated and trained faculty.

Whether you prefer to work in front of the camera or behind it, Troy University’s broadcast journalism major will prepare you for an exciting career within the news industry.

The world continues to use radio and television as two of its main avenues for receiving news and information. Additionally, the Internet and social media play active roles in the way people around the globe receive their news and entertainment. As a TROY broadcast journalism student, you will learn to skillfully navigate these outlets to help deliver news to a rapidly changing audience.

Through your training within TROY’s award-winning Hall School of Journalism and Communication, you will master the art of news reporting, including the interview process and writing for mass media. Within the framework of your degree, you will become a practiced communicator as you combine core broadcast skills with hands-on TV studio and production techniques and experiences. These courses and opportunities will require you to hone your critical thinking skills all while learning to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You’ll have ample opportunities to report, produce and anchor live television newscasts Monday through Friday at TrojanVision, TROY’s state-of-the-art TV production studio.

Environmental Science is the field of study that examines questions addressing global warming and biodiversity that guides policy makers into decisions that ensure a sustainable future. The undergraduate environmental science program at Troy University provides students with an understanding of critical environmental issues and prepares them for careers in the environmental field. Troy University's environmental science program faculty find a balance between teaching and research. Program faculty bring real-world experience to the classroom through their research, advisory, and consultation activities.

Led by skilled and knowledgeable faculty members, your courses within TROY’s environmental science program will ready you for a career that helps address the concerns our world is facing. Your classes will immerse you in the field of science starting with cell structure and going all the way to the ever-complex human anatomy. As you progress within your program, you’ll learn about ecology, plant forms and functions, insects, birds and freshwater ecosystems.

Through your journey toward your degree, you will study how the Earth’s abiotic and biotic systems work with an emphasis on how human activity influences these systems and the methods of control for air, water, land and noise pollution. The Troy University School of Accountancy is committed to providing students the accounting education required to enter the accounting profession and to pursue a successful professional career. The Troy University School of Accountancy offers an undergraduate accounting curriculum that provides the foundation for entering the accounting profession in the public, private, or governmental area. An undergraduate degree in accounting will also give you a strong foundation in business-related topics such as marketing, finance, and management. Earning your degree in Accounting gives you flexibility in choosing employment or furthering your education. If you choose immediate employment, you will have the skills to obtain an entry-level position in a public, private, or governmental entity. If you choose to further your education, you will have the coursework necessary to enter graduate programs in accounting such as the Master of Accountancy. As a TROY student, you will have an opportunity to seek a paid internship at one of the many local, regional and national firms or private company businesses and governmental agencies that recruit students from Troy University. The internships generally begin in January and last approximately three months. Importantly, the internship program is part of the accounting curriculum, so participation in the internship program does not delay graduation.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in the recruiting activities sponsored by the School of Accountancy. Our annual Accountancy Day and Meet-the-Firms events provide networking opportunities with Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms as well as governmental agencies and private company industry representatives. You will have the opportunity to enhance your interview skills through workshops co-sponsored with the Alabama Society of CPAs, Becker CPA Review, and ITAC Solutions. As a TROY student, you may also join the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)—one of the most prestigious professional organizations in the United States—as well as the Alabama Society of CPAs.

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry opens many avenues and provides many career options. Nationwide, about 60 percent of graduates enter the workforce in industries such as chemical, food and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Others enter graduate school to get a Ph.D. in chemistry or work in higher education and scientific research and development. Still, others enter a medical profession such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and chiropractic. Chemistry majors can also find jobs teaching high school chemistry. Chemistry majors are respected for their ability to analyze and solve problems. This ability makes chemistry majors desirable in sales and management positions, as well.
