The University of Delaware's Bachelor of Arts in Game Studies and eSports prepares majors for excellence in a broad range of careers in the video game industry and related fields. UD's Game Studies and eSports degree provides graduates with a rigorous interdisciplinary background, unlocking the myriad skills that will allow them to conquer the challenges the video game industry faces every day.

The B.S. in Applied Mathematics allows students to gain depth in mathematics as well as one of twenty-one areas of application in science and engineering such as Bioinformatics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Physics and Statistics. This degree prepares students planning a career in a field requiring strength in mathematics as well as in an area of application. Students considering a double major in Mathematics and a related area are advised to consider this program.

As an operations management (OM) major, you’ll learn about the processes that companies use to transform resources into goods and services.

As an OM professional, you’ll help companies make important decisions about product creation, development, production and distribution while focusing on efficiency and balancing supply and demand. This requires a mastery of technology, data analysis and critical decision-making.

If you enjoy solving problems using the latest technology, utilizing math to improve real-world situations, analyzing data and explaining it to others or learning valuable new decision-making skills, then the OM major is for you.

Focused Study

• Enrollment in the ENTR major is limited to 30 students per year. This enables us to deliver a high-impact, small-school experience as well as the many opportunities associated with attending a major research university.
• You’ll move through the program with the other students in your class as a cohort, completing required entrepreneurship courses and being immersed in the broader entrepreneurial community together. Seasoned entrepreneurs and business leaders actively engage with you in all program courses and co-curricular activities.

Engage with politics, culture and language

Combine your love of French and your interest in government and political systems in this exciting major offered jointly by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the Department of Political Science and International Relations. French language courses will help you acquire the skills necessary to communicate effectively in Francophone settings. Courses in politics, business, literature and civilization will provide you with a thorough understanding of French and Francophone political and cultural environments.

We offer an interdisciplinary major with the same name as our college. There has never been a more immediate and pressing need for agriculture and natural resource professionals than now. The field of agriculture and natural resources needs generalists to educate others, and address real-world problems of feeding the world and protecting the planet. With a working farm right on main campus, students have unparalleled access to a 350-acre classroom, where they gain practical experience by actively testing their knowledge in real-world settings. Students regularly engage with faculty from each of the college’s departments for hands-on experiences, research opportunities and connections to communities.

Cognitive science is the interdisciplinary study of the mind as an information processor. It is a relatively new discipline that arose in the mid-20th century from a convergence of conceptual revolutions primarily in psychology, computer science and linguistics. Today, it also draws from fields such as philosophy, neuroscience and anthropology. A central goal of cognitive science is to determine structures and processes that underwrite cognitive tasks such as perception, memory, attention, language and motor control. This, in turn, plays an important role in applied research areas such as artificial intelligence, educational psychology, the science of language and communication.

What does a French Major study?  Of course, you will acquire the skills needed to effectively communicate with French and Francophone speakers. But what will you communicate? Our department offers engaging courses in French and Francophone literature, culture, civilization, theater, business and cinema. Plus, study abroad for the opportunity to take courses in politics, art, economics, fashion, photography, tourism and gastronomy. Your study will prepare you to compete and succeed in a wide variety of professions while using the language of over 200 million people on five continents.

For almost a century, the University of Delaware’s Physics and Astronomy program has provided a world class undergraduate physics education that meets the goals of STEM education. The UD Ancient Greek and Roman Studies Program provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and civilization of Ancient Greece and Rome. As a program of study, Ancient Greek and Roman Studies concerns itself with all aspects of ancient Greek and Roman culture and its influence through the Middle Ages and Renaissance up to the present day. The program focuses not just on Greek and Roman language and literature but also on material culture (art history and archaeology); on economic, political, social and intellectual history; and on philosophy, religion and myth. Unlike most other areas of study, Ancient Greek and Roman Studies is truly interdisciplinary and—as such—provides a unique experience for students with many different interests and intended career paths.
