The International Business - Marketing degree is designed to provide in-depth expertise in the discipline of marketing while it concurrently provides students with a broader, global business perspective. Such perspective is essential to operating in today’s increasing complex multi-national business context. The program ensures students have a proficiency in a second language, enhanced socio-cultural awareness and a robust study abroad experience. Today’s business climate is marked by fluid and interconnected financial markets, widely available technological advancements that increase global connectivity, increased international trade, and the emergence of vibrant growing economies in what were formerly considered third world countries. Increased globalization has necessitated that managers have a broad, holistic perspective that incorporates the diverse components of an international business degree. Program Outcomes

• Students will be competent in understanding institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.
• Students will evaluate how the cultural and legal differences between the country in which they studied abroad and the U.S. would impact how they operate in that country.
• Students earning a B.S. degree in international business - marketing are required to complete 121 credits, including the university core curriculum (41 credits) and the business program core (30 credits).   Further clarification and additional requirements are outlined below:

The University of New Haven’s B.S. in Business Analytics will provide you with the training to be this indispensable individual. Through the program, you will gain organizational and technical competencies in data science, learning to interpret data-asset data asset analysis for business applications and acquiring the skills to guide organizational decision-making. We will train you in a wide range of data analytics methods, while also giving you specialization opportunities in sport management, marketing analytics, or operations/supply chain strategy.

Especially valuable to professional individuals with a number of years of experience in industry and entrepreneurs, applicants are required to hold a four-year baccalaureate degree in engineering or a related field.

A paramedic has a level of knowledge, skill, and treatment capabilities that are significantly beyond those of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and which can dramatically improve a patient’s outcome at the hospital. In response to the need for these uniquely trained emergency medical care professionals, the University of New Haven developed its paramedicine program. This program will prepare you to become a new breed of first responder – one who holds dual certification as both a firefighter and as a paramedic.

Hands-on learning will be a major part of your education. You’ll ride along with ambulance services and take patients’ vitals. You’ll practice doing chest compressions and starting IV lines on high-fidelity mannequins. You’ll become part of teams who care for patients in whatever medical emergency unfolds. The goal of the paramedicine program is to make your education as real-world as it gets.

Through this program, offered in conjunction with Yale New Haven Hospital, you will also:

• Become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Gain more than 700 hours of clinical and internship experience through multiple models of EMS services, including hospital-based and fire-based
• Expand your knowledge through classes in anatomy and physiology at the Yale University School of Medicine
• Become eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic exam at the completion of your studies
• Have a chance to join the Pre-Health Professions (PHP) Scholars Program, which can serve as a launching pad for pursuing a career or further study in healthcare

Our Finance Degree Will Prepare You for Wall Street

Finance is at the heart of what is transforming the world, and finance professionals are in high demand. Their salaries are excellent because they are the ones who understand how money is best earned, invested, and reinvested – and complex system that guides this process.

As a finance major at the University of New Haven, you will learn to be a skillful money manager with a deep understanding of the system, its inner workings, and the impact it has on the economy. You'll do this by having access to industry-standard finance data sets and tools, preparing you to earn an internship and to have your pick of potential career opportunities.

Candidates are required to complete a minimum of 36 credits of graduate work, which may include an internship in national security. Transfer credit from other institutions may be permitted subject to the Graduate School policy on transfer credit detailed elsewhere in this catalog.

Students in the program are required to complete 18 credits of core courses and 18 credits of general electives.  Students must complete a capstone requirement of either NSPS 6693 - National Security Internship I or NSPS 6697 Thesis I and NSPS 6698 Thesis II.  If the six credit thesis option is selected, NSPS 6698 will count toward electives.

Program Outcomes:

• Develop a working knowledge of the most prominent features national security with an emphasis on the United States’ national security enterprise.
• Acquire a foundational understanding and awareness of issues related to cyber security and information protection.
• Formulate original research through graduate-level thesis or acquire practitioner work experience through an internship.
• Evaluate and design policy solutions to contemporary national security problems.

As a forensic science major at the University of New Haven, you will learn to use science and technology to uncover evidence that can "testify" in court and impact criminal or civil cases. You will sharpen your powers of observation and learn how to identify and interpret such evidence in one of the most respected forensic science programs in the country, a program enthusiastically endorsed by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC).

And, you will have the opportunity to study in the world-renowned Henry C. Lee Institute for Forensic Science. This state-of-the-art center – named after the legendary investigator – features working crime-scene labs and high-tech visual displays, and serves as a go-to resource for law enforcement agencies around the globe.

The objective of the Master of Science in Accounting program is to provide an in-depth framework for artificial intelligence (AI)/analytics, corporate, forensic, and taxation accounting inquiry, devised in structure and content from the entire scope and process of accounting-information-based economic decision-making. The existence of such a framework is intended to provide graduate accountants and professional practitioners with an opportunity to share in the development and assessment of issues of accounting interest within a decision-making context. Additionally, the Master of Science in Accounting program is designed to provide non-accountants and practitioners with the accounting credits requisite for certification.

Program Outcomes:

• Students will demonstrate familiarity with the fundamental concepts and knowledge in their concentration areas of Corporate, Forensic, Tax, or AI/Analytics.
• Students will be able to apply knowledge from 1.1 toward analysis and analyze data using technology and information systems and using appropriate quantitative and analytical techniques.
