In biology, there are questions to be asked and problems to be solved. Through the biology program at the University of New Haven, you will learn to do both successfully, applying the theoretical knowledge you gain in the classroom in hands-on laboratory activities and engaging in field work right from the start.

Students earning a B.S. degree with a major in biology must complete a minimum of 125 credits. Courses include the course requirements for the particular biology concentration as indicated below and completion of 40 credits of the University Core Curriculum with restrictions as listed below.

The program’s schedule allows for students to complete the program in as few as 12 months for those who meet the criteria to waive the three business foundation courses, and carry a 12-credit hour load. Human Resource Management

The concentration develops the strategic approach to effective management of an organization’s workforce.

The forensic psychology concentration prepares students for careers in the management and care of offenders in forensic settings. In addition, it is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals currently working in law enforcement, the courts, and various community-based treatment and prevention programs.

Program Outcomes:

• Students will successfully conduct applied social research relevant to community psychology.
• Students successfully apply major theoretical concepts in the core community psychology curriculum and their concentration area. 
• Students demonstrate, at a professional level, applied intervention skills in an internship setting relevant to their concentration.

The program consists of 36 credits, 18 of which compose the core curriculum completed by all students, and 9 of which constitute one of three areas of concentration. The remaining 9 credits are electives.

Focuses on the application of advanced computer and geographical information systems (GIS) in the collection and analysis of crime data.

Crime Victim Services

Investigative Services

This concentration provides students with competencies in evaluating the financial health of the organization and utilizing this information to create market strength. It provides a focused exposure to financial tools essential to the modern organizations for valuation, asset management, and risk management. Students earning a B.A. degree in communication with a concentration in film production and media entrepreneurship will build the knowledge and skills related to film production in addition to a solid grounding in communication entrepreneurial fundamentals.  Through coursework emphasizing writing, production, and distribution, as well as laboratory and available internship opportunities, students will learn to become competent and well-rounded film production professionals.

Students earning a B.A. degree in communication with a concentration in film production and media entrepreneurship are required to complete a total of 121 credits as follows.
