In the University of New Haven’s ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering program you will join that long line of pioneers, using your skills to design, analyze, improve, and test the products and systems that are essential to everyday life -- and to create those that don’t yet exist.

Through our program, you’ll build a multidisciplinary foundation in mechanical, chemical, civil, and electrical engineering and develop skills in physics, chemistry, and mathematics as well.

All of it provides the basis for detailed study in mechanical engineering, in which you will:

Human uses of the marine environment, including fishing, aquaculture, energy development, and tourism, have increased significantly in the past two decades. Coastal areas are highly productive and resource-rich ecosystems and also account for some of the most sought-after real estate in the world. Multiple uses, potentially conflicting interests, and economic and social dependency create ever more complex issues of sustainability, environmental law and policy, and resource management.

With our M.A. in Marine Policy and Management, you will gain the higher-level skills, practical experience, and interdisciplinary knowledge that enable you to thrive in this environment and in the related fields that feed into it.

Fathom the Depths of Human-Marine Dynamics

Through the University of New Haven’s Master of Arts in Marine Policy and Management program, you will acquire a deeper understanding of the complex forces at play in marine-linked human and natural systems. The competencies that you gain in the program — developing and implementing policy and management plans, strategizing for effective public outreach and communication, and highly refined research skills — will make you a vital part of the decision making process on issues of marine natural resource management, policy, and sustainability.

The University’s full-time MBA program, which is one of only two in Connecticut – and less than 30 across the U.S. – that offer concentrations that are STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) certified by the federal government, enables you to both master new skills through rigorous coursework and build a portfolio of experience through internships and real-world learning opportunities that will prepare you to excel.

Our program is a great choice for those who’ve recently completed an undergraduate degree or who are looking to continue their education straight out of college. The program’s schedule allows for students to complete the program in as few as 12 months for those who meet the criteria to waive the three business foundation courses, and carry a 12-credit hour load. Students who do not meet the waiver criteria may complete the program in less than two years.

 Data Analytics

This concentration provides students with a technical awareness of the opportunities needed to enhance business operations. It provides the tools necessary to collect, identify, and understand patterns that allow the organization to make informed decisions consistent with its mission. This is especially true with the advent of Big Data and increasingly sophisticated computing techniques used to mine it. With a specific focus on the application of mathematical statistics to the description, analysis, and forecasting of business data, the concentration features the analysis of data from multiple firm sources such as marketing, finance, human resource management, etc. The R-programming language is a central part of the concentration’s design.

Have a passion for sports? Unite your love for the game with a pioneering, business-focused sports management program – the first to be licensed and accredited by the state of Connecticut – and among the first in North America to be accredited by the Sports Management Program Review Council (SMPRC).

As a University of New Haven sport management major, you will combine your study off the field with hands-on experience and business training in all facets of modern sports.

At the graduate level, the electrical engineering program allows students to flourish through analysis, design, development, or research on electrical and computer engineering systems while staying abreast of the latest trends in technology in focus areas such as communication, signal processing, power systems, control systems, and digital and computer systems.

The Master of Public Administration is the most widely accepted and valued professional degree in the field of Public Service. Our MPA program provides students with the core skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful professional in Public Service, as well as offering students an opportunity to complete a concentration in one of five timely areas: 1) Municipal Management, 2) Public Financial Management, 3) Public Safety, 4) Nonprofit Management, and 5) Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Our MPA accommodates the needs of students new to the field as well as those already working in public service. In both cases, we seek students who are motivated to increase their knowledge and gain the skills necessary to take on challenging assignments in public service, particularly at the state and local level.

Program Outcomes:

• Complete and understand the basis for public administration and the development of the public administration paradigm.
• Students should have begun to analyze and interpret real world data and its presentation to an audience.
• Student should be able to judge his/her fit into the organization as well as its internal dynamics.
• Student should be able to handle themselves in a variety of challenging environments.

With challenging, professionally-oriented courses in classroom settings, students quickly develop the skills necessary to provide ground breaking solutions to complex environmental problems through an interdisciplinary study of environmental protection issues, water quality and purification, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, site remediation, and emission control measures.

Small classroom sizes equipped with state-of-the-art technology provides graduates with a uniquely personable learning experience while a required project facilitates in-depth exploration of contemporary environmental issues that challenge our ever-changing world.

To produce graduates who are competent, caring Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who remain active in the practice, by providing innovative, inter-professional, student centered education with a focus on experiential education, and with an emphasis on lifelong learning.

The Master of Science in Nutrition Sciences program provides a curriculum and supervised experiences that are designed to fulfill required competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics under the Future Education Model (FEM) accreditation. Successful completion of the program results in a Verification Statement from the Program Director authorizing eligibility to sit for the national registration exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Successful passage of this exam confers the title Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

The community-clinical services concentration prepares students for careers in clinical, mental health, and related human-service settings. Work at the individual level is stressed, as are consultation, social problem analysis, and prevention techniques and strategies

Program Outcomes:

• Students will successfully conduct applied social research relevant to community psychology.
• Students successfully apply major theoretical concepts in the core community psychology curriculum and their concentration area. 
• Students demonstrate, at a professional level, applied intervention skills in an internship setting relevant to their concentration.

The program consists of 36 credits, 18 of which compose the core curriculum completed by all students, and 9 of which constitute one of three areas of concentration. The remaining 9 credits are electives.

As a student in the University of New Haven’s Master of Arts program in industrial/organizational psychology, you will bring psychological principles to the workplace to benefit both employees and employers.

Through this program, you will:
