The objective of the Master of Science in Accounting program is to provide an in-depth framework for corporate, forensic, AI/analytics, and taxation accounting inquiry, devised in structure and content from the entire scope and process of accounting-information-based economic decision-making. The existence of such a framework is intended to provide graduate accountants and professional practitioners with an opportunity to share in the development and assessment of issues of accounting interest within a decision-making context. Additionally, the Master of Science in Accounting program is designed to provide non-accountants and practitioners with the accounting credits requisite for certification.

The AI/Analytics concentration provides the tools for data analysis used in auditing, predictive modeling, forensic accounting, and business operations analytics.  These tools will enhance the traditional skillsets provided in the Master of Science in Accounting core.  This is a cutting-edge field in the modern American marketplace.

Data Science is an emerging field that combines methods from machine learning, artificial intelligence, and statistics with entirely new technologies for handling vast amounts of complex and quickly-changing data. The B.S. degree in business analytics prepares students for careers that use data to support and inform business decision-making and management. Students learn skills in a natural progression including assembling and managing data, displaying data, uncovering patterns in data, developing predictive models, and using these models to make better decisions across all business domains. Business analytics skills are in demand across a wide range of industries including healthcare, sports, marketing, finance, consulting, supply-chain operations, and information technology. A paramedic has a level of knowledge, skill, and treatment capabilities that are significantly beyond those of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and which can dramatically improve a patient’s outcome at the hospital. In response to the need for these uniquely trained emergency medical care professionals, the University of New Haven developed its paramedicine program. This program will prepare you to become a new breed of first responder – one who holds dual certification as both a firefighter and as a paramedic.

Hands-on learning will be a major part of your education. You’ll ride along with ambulance services and take patients’ vitals. You’ll practice doing chest compressions and starting IV lines on high-fidelity mannequins. You’ll become part of teams who care for patients in whatever medical emergency unfolds. The goal of the paramedicine program is to make your education as real-world as it gets.

Through this program, offered in conjunction with Yale New Haven Hospital, you will also:

• Become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Gain more than 700 hours of clinical and internship experience through multiple models of EMS services, including hospital-based and fire-based
• Expand your knowledge through classes in anatomy and physiology at the Yale University School of Medicine
• Become eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic exam at the completion of your studies
• Have a chance to join the Pre-Health Professions (PHP) Scholars Program, which can serve as a launching pad for pursuing a career or further study in healthcare
