Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

 Marketing and Digital Marketing

This concentration provides students with the technical skills to use digital analytics and managerial prowess to strategically implement marketing decisions related to business operations. It provides the tools necessary to collect, identify, and understand patterns that allow the organization to make informed data-driven decisions regarding the consumer economy. These skills are especially relevant with the continued growth of Big Data and the increasingly sophisticated computing techniques used to mine it. The R-programming language is a central part of the concentration’s design.

The International Business - Economics degree is designed to provide in-depth expertise in the discipline of economics while it concurrently provides students with a broader, global business perspective. The Bachelor of Science in National Security is designed to prepare students to enter the important areas of employment associated with the national security infrastructure of the United States. Graduates of this program will understand the nature and scope of the various national security agencies, the national security strategy, and the connections between the nation’s national security strategy and the policies developed to help ensure our nation’s security. Students in this concentration learn to use the tools and skills employed in the Intelligence Community (IC); develop the analytical foundations to be able to analyze alternative threats to security; to map and model threats using geospatial analysis; and the laws, ethics, and regulations that structure national security operations.

Program Outcomes:

  • Develop a working knowledge of the most prominent features of the global national security construct with an emphasis on the United States’ (U.S.) national security enterprise and its U.S. Constitutional roots.
  • Understand key security studies concepts, along with the language, logic and legal foundations of national security with an emphasis on the U.S. programs and key individual actors within it and attention on international culture and conflict zones.

Health Sciences, Nursing and Emergency Services

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with Concentration in General

The B.S. in Health Sciences combines basic scientific knowledge, healthcare industry specific knowledge, and practical skills for students to be competitive in the 21st century healthcare workforce. The program addresses both the administrative and technical aspects of healthcare as well as the professional, social, ethical, and political elements.  Courses provide broad technical skills as well as the organizational competencies needed for entry level positions in a wide range of healthcare organizations and companies, as well as preparation for graduate study in clinical professions.  In particular, this program aims to provide a broad, interdisciplinary training for students interested in clinical and non-clinical health fields including but not limited to medicine, population health, clinical research administration, and healthcare administration.  The B.S. in Health Sciences also offers two optional concentrations: Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy.  Each of these concentrations focuses on a specific healthcare profession and is designed to prepare students for graduate school in an area of specialization.

The B.S. degree in business analytics prepares students for careers that use data to support and inform business decision-making and management. Students learn skills in a natural progression including assembling and managing data, displaying data, uncovering patterns in data, developing predictive models, and using these models to make better decisions across all business domains.
