The program in motion pictures provides a study of film as a fine art. The curriculum offers two options: the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre with a concentration in motion pictures production and the Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre with a concentration in motion pictures history, theory, and criticism.

The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures is devoted exclusively to the training and education of undergraduate students in the areas of dance, motion pictures, and theatre. These programs lead to the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees.

The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures is empowered by the Ohio Revised Code to require particular preliminary training or talent for admission to specific programs, and each of the five B.F.A. degree programs has specific criteria for admission to each level of training. Students in all areas must earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 by the end of the freshman year to continue in a theatre arts major. Students who wish to be admitted as majors in acting, acting/musical theatre, or dance must successfully pass an audition or interview. Transfer students are admitted into B.F.A. programs on the basis of a successful audition, interview, or portfolio presentation. The department has an open admissions policy for students wishing to major in the B.A. programs in theatre studies and motion pictures history, theory, and criticism, and B.F.A. programs in design/technology and motion pictures production.

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Students who want to become certified athletic trainers must earn a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum. Accredited programs include formal instruction in areas such as injury/illness prevention, first-aid, and emergency care, assessment of injury/illness, human anatomy and physiology, therapeutic modalities, and nutrition. The athletic training program prepares you to sit for the national Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer examination which meets the certification in Ohio as regulated by the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board.  Licensure and certification requirements vary from state to state, and we have not determined if this program meets educational requirements outside of Ohio.  If you are planning to pursue professional licensure or certification in a state other than Ohio, please contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding that state’s licensure or certification requirements.

In this program, you will learn the basics of accounting, economics, marketing, financial management, and management and organizational behavior. The management and financial knowledge you gain will expand your job opportunities or help you get promoted sooner. You will apply the theories learned in the classroom to workplace challenges, learn to collaborate and work effectively in teams across and within functional areas, enhance your communication skills, sharpen critical and analytical thinking, deepen your ethical decision-making in business contexts, and proactively anticipate rapidly changing business challenges in a global economy.

This program gives you a broad base to move easily into the workplace in a variety of industries, as well as give you a broad foundation of valuable business skills for continuing your education in graduate studies.

The Master of Humanities program offers a unique, flexible, interdisciplinary opportunity for graduate study, whether you are a traditional or non-traditional student.

You will explore questions from diverse perspectives rather than concentrate your study within a single discipline. Your program of study might focus on a historical period, a cultural region, or a social or artistic theme, and may combine, for example, ancient and modern cultures, literature and politics, philosophy and art, or history and religion.

The program is flexible because you design, in consultation with the director, your integrated individualized curriculum, pursue full-time or part-time study, and attend evening or day classes.

You can earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a concentration in art and art history through Wright State's Department of Art and Art History. The B.A. is for you if you wish to combine a liberal arts education with studies in art. You can also pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree with concentrations in painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, if you have decided to pursue a more intense and professional program in studio art.

B.F.A. degrees can be combined with an art education component or allow you to supplement your Fine Arts education with a Graphic Arts certificate from Wright State's Lake Campus. The Graphic Arts Certificate is designed for the art student interested in supplementing the curriculum with graphics-based technology courses. It will increase their knowledge and career potential in a variety of art-related fields. Students will gain hands-on experience through a variety of digital graphics-based software programs. Students may also pursue certificates in graphic design or interior design from Sinclair Community College.

Many graduates of these programs are successful applicants to graduate programs in fine and applied arts and education. Because self-expression and self-learning are the ultimate goals of the B.F.A. program, you are largely responsible for determining the options that best meet your needs and interests.

• Have integrated drawing skills into their aesthetic sensibility.
• Be able to demonstrate an acquaintance with the materials and procedures of five of the studio disciplines taught at Wright State.
• Show proficiency and have an in-depth understanding of at least one studio discipline taught at Wright State.
• Have an understanding of the evolution of art history.
• Have integrated the study of original works of art into their artistic practice.

Materials engineers are on the cutting-edge of technology in virtually every field. Materials science and engineering students learn how to turn raw materials into useful products and technology.

Materials science engineers (MSE) design everything from fuel cells, superconductors, titanium turbine blades, and nanomaterials to graphite fiber tennis rackets, skis, synthetic heart valves, and lithium-ion batteries.

Materials engineers are constantly developing and improving materials for new uses and emerging technologies. These include many diverse areas such as improved metals to make safer and more fuel-efficient cars, high-temperature superconductors, new coatings to make fabric waterproof, new ceramic and metallic materials for medical implants, advanced composites for lighter, stronger equipment, and higher frequency lasers for improved fiber optic communication systems.

New technology is creating a need for new materials, which is driving the demand for engineers in the basic materials and advanced research areas of the profession.

The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering offers a program of graduate study leading to a Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.) degree with a major in Renewable and Clean Energy. This increasingly critical field of engineering focuses on alternative energy technologies that hold promise of becoming a substantial source of energy for the United States. The Renewable and Clean Energy program includes courses on many types of alternative energy systems, in addition to courses on fundamental concepts related to energy. Included in this program are courses on fuel cells, solar energy, wind power, hydrogen fuel, energy conversion, energy materials, energy efficiency, thermodynamics, etc. The intent of this program is to train the next generation of renewable and clean energy engineers and to develop research in the area of renewable and clean energies.

Our undergraduate program offers a rigorous, challenging, and intellectually stimulating experience. You will simultaneously explore a subject you love while developing the kinds of universal skills employers seek—written and spoken communication, analytical and problem solving skills, and research experience. This prepares you for a wide variety of careers. Program Outcomes
In this program, you will get a broad education in core business skills such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, and operations management along with emphasizing business and organizational studies and information systems technology. You will study business systems analysis, business system design, and computer programming. You will also focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems in a variety of organizational environments. Coursework includes information system design, development methodologies, database management systems, electronic business, and data communications.

Studying one of the modern languages at Wright State will help you improve your ability to read, write, and speak in another language, study how that language is used in a social context, and become a more enlightened citizen. You will also learn about the history, politics, culture, media, and literature of your chosen country and study their economic and educational systems.

New technologies have increased global opportunities, and studying a modern language prepares you to work with people all over the world. Government and non-governmental agencies have discovered a critical need for college graduates with foreign language skills.
