The UNSW Master of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering is a two-year postgraduate degree in the School of Minerals and Energy Resource Engineering. You’ll gain the accreditation for a career in petroleum engineering, the oil and gas industry and other related sectors.  

You’ll explore a broad range of areas related to employment in petroleum engineering including:

Criminal Justice and Criminology
Crime and criminal justice are matters of pressing public concern and considerable controversy. Newly emerging problems offer challenges and require rethinking conventional understandings of criminology and criminal justice. The Criminal Justice and Criminology specialisation in the Master of Laws will provide you with advanced interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to research and analyse current debates, emerging problems, and new criminal law and criminal justice developments. The specialisation draws on the recognised expertise of UNSW in research and teaching of criminal justice and criminology, criminal law and procedure. You can also choose courses dealing with transnational developments, international criminal law and human rights, and the rapidly evolving sub-discipline of state crime.

Public Relations (Major)
Choosing to specialise in public relations & advertising for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW will provide you with practical skills, knowledge and experience you need for a career in these exciting and dynamic promotional industries. Selecting from a focused set of courses, you will gain practical experience and a critical perspective on advertising, public relations, and communication.

You’ll learn to think critically about public relations and advertising. You will also gain hands-on experience in areas such as; strategic communication, campaign development, crisis communication, branding, media relations and social media, as you’re mentored by a diverse team of staff with years of industry and research experience.

Combining industry experience with practical skills in public relations and advertising, media and communication theory (as well as electives in humanities and social sciences)—this degree will set you up for a dynamic career that moves with the future of media industries.

The Master of Professional Accounting (Extension) follows the structure of the Master of Professional Accounting but adds four extra courses in your choice of electives to further your knowledge. This provides you with the opportunity to complete a more comprehensive program beyond the core professional knowledge areas required for accreditation.

You'll gain an excellent foundation in business with a strong accounting focus. In this postgraduate degree you'll learn accounting principles, their applications and other relevant knowledge in economics, finance, information systems and law.

This double degree enables students to gain skills and knowledge in the technical field of Computer Science as well as in a variety of subjects in Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Computer Science component emphasises comprehension of the basic principles behind computing tools, operating systems, compilers and translators, and computer hardware. Chemical Product Engineering is the new frontier for chemical engineers. It incorporates the technical and entrepreneurial skills needed to innovate, develop and design new chemical and consumer products for large and small businesses.

Chemical Engineering has an emphasis on product design and development. A major focus in this field is on new materials and breakthrough technologies that overcome high costs and scarcity to create value-adding solutions. Chemical Engineers work in areas from cosmetics, drugs and solar cells to advance biomedical devices by identifying customer needs and creating products that meet those needs.

You'll build on the study of chemical and physical sciences and processes to create the types of products that can be commercialised in a number of fields such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agricultural chemicals and foods. Through academic and project work as well as applying your skills during 60 days of approved industry training, you'll graduate with the tools and skills you need to create products across a wide range of industries.
