With a focus on global business, the Supply Chain Management - Global Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares you for careers in the fields of logistics, procurement, and supply chain and operations management.

Businesses look to global supply chains to extend their entry into new markets and to expand their access to a wide range of resources beyond the local market. In this program you explore ways to integrate end-to-end supply chain functions from raw material suppliers to the final customer and align them with companies` product and service strategies. Topics include procurement and purchasing; transportation and logistics; and business analytics and process improvement.

The one-year Human Services Foundations Ontario College Certificate allows you to explore career opportunities within human services and prepare for the most appropriate academic and professional pathway for you. Human services supports individuals, families and communities to attain a higher quality of life. As a student, you examine how different human services professionals collaborate to contribute to a better society.

In this program, you develop core skills that are common to all areas of human services, such as relationship building, team work and stress management. You increase your own awareness of issues of diversity and inclusion in Canada and how social issues influence human and community development. You develop a strong understanding of client and community needs, and the impact that systemic barriers have on marginalizing specific populations. This exploration empowers you to select a population group and industry that you would like to focus on. You develop academic skills and career planning skills to support you through the next stages of your academic study.

The two-year Motive Power Technician - Diesel Equipment and Truck Ontario College Diploma program, delievered in a compressed format over 42 weeks, prepares you to enter a variety of careers in the heavy equipment repair and service industry.

This program gives you a combination of hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge for the diesel equipment and truck repair and service industry.

Through a series of classroom-based courses and extensive practical labs, you learn skills specific to heavy trucks and diesel equipment, including

• shop procedures and safety
• vehicle maintenance and repair
• drivelines
• chassis
• operational principles of systems common to most diesel equipment and trucks
• fuel and electrical systems
• internal combustion engines

The three-year Computer Engineering Technology - Computing Science Ontario College Advanced Diploma program prepares you for an information technology (IT) career in the private or public sectors. You gain the knowledge and skills to use a broad range of IT-based analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in support of the day-to-day operation of an enterprise`s software systems or in the development of new systems.

Learn a variety of programming languages (Java, C#, C++, C, and others) and operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, and QNX). In addition, you study the development tools and debugging techniques used to design, code and test integrated and/or embedded applications and software systems.

In your final year, you work in teams on sponsored real-world projects to develop a comprehensive application as part of the software engineering portion of the program. You also have the opportunity to select an elective course from an approved list, in areas that include graphics/multimedia, advanced database programming, android, business programming (Cobol), security and advanced web programming.

The majority of the program consists of courses in systems programming, software development, testing and maintenance. The balance of the curriculum consists of courses in technical communications skills (both oral and written), mathematics and general education electives.

Students also have the option to gain real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term (see Additional Information for more details). The one-year Victimology Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares you for work in a variety of fields, providing services to victims of crime. This one-year program provides specialized knowledge and skills in victimology and in the provision of victim services. You also explore the history and theories of victimization, with applied victim-centred focus.

Combining theoretical and applied learning, it includes a field placement of more than 140 hours. It is in this setting where you learn about victims` issues and perspectives first-hand from experts in the field.

The Victimology program offers you the means to pursue a unique career. This program is the first graduate certificate program offered by a Canadian college specializing in victimology. The collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program helps you develop the skills to enter the field of nursing. This program prepares you to take on the role of Registered Nurse - offering quality care in the healthcare system.

In this program, you experience classroom, laboratory and clinical learning in a wide variety of settings. Key program outcomes include developing critical thinking and communication skills, as you become a professional nurse who solves problems as part of healthcare teams.

This is a four-year program offered in collaboration with the University of Ottawa. You experience both theoretical and applied courses that help you succeed. You may choose to study at either the University of Ottawa, Algonquin (Ottawa campus) or Algonquin (Pembroke campus).

Those studying at Algonquin College (Ottawa campus) take some of their courses in the first year at the University of Ottawa. Those studying at Algonquin College (Pembroke campus) take all of their classes in Pembroke.

Regardless of the location chosen, all successful students graduate with a BScN from the University of Ottawa. Graduates are eligible to write the NCLEX to become a Registered Nurse in Canada. As a graduate, you contribute to the development of nursing as an art and as a science. Following graduation, you may pursue graduate studies.

BScN graduates are in high demand and may work in hospitals, community health agencies, long-term care facilities, private practice and a variety of other settings across Canada and around the world.

The Cyber Security Analysis (CSA) Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed to prepare you to meet the market demand for cyber security professionals in the public and private sector.

Throughout the program, you focus analytically on key cyber security principles including threat and vulnerability management, event analysis, laws and ethics relating to security compliance and implementation, cryptographic solutions for data confidentiality and communication protection, cyber incident response, digital forensics processes, disaster recovery and business continuity following cyber incidents and related tools and security appliances. Graduates possess the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to assess, recommend, implement and troubleshoot various advanced security solutions and countermeasures. Algonquin College`s state-of-the-art computing facilities, running the latest Windows and Linux/UNIX-based operating system (O/S) platforms and supporting a wide variety of pre-installed software applications, support you to be well-prepared for entry into the field of cyber security. You gain exposure to real-world technologies currently used within industry including specialized networking, Cisco and hardware labs along with several network-based O/S servers. The Cyber Security Analysis curriculum has been designed to closely align with the Canadian Center for Cyber Security`s (CCCS) curriculum guidelines and also assists in preparing graduates to achieve a number of industry certifications. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to attain certifications including:

The Paralegal Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares you to apply to the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) to become a licensed paralegal. This program is offered in three consecutive semesters followed by a mandatory 120-hour field placement.

This program is accredited by the LSO. It prepares you for a career in which you provide legal services to the public in specified areas of practice. Learn in a hands-on environment, acquiring practical skills from experienced and dedicated faculty.

Study areas of law that are relevant to the type of work a licensed paralegal can perform, as governed by the LSO. You learn about case management and trial preparation in areas such as:

The one-year Marketing Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate prepares you to thrive in today`s marketing industry. Analyze consumer attitudes and behaviours in regards to products and services in our rapidly changing world. Through a creative, flexible and customer-focused approach, develop an understanding of both domestic and international marketing issues.

Among other topics, you develop a critical understanding of the competitive and customer-oriented demands of a business, its product and service operations and its marketing processes and resources. Acquire creative, procedural and critical marketing expertise to generate, implement and evaluate marketing programs that satisfy customer requirements.
