Are you passionate about exercise, sport, health, and human movement? Consider the Kinesiology program. Kinesiology is the study of the human body in motion and is a growing field that offers a variety of careers and educational opportunities.

All Kinesiology courses are delivered on a semesterized schedule from September to April of each year. Depending on availability of programming, some academic courses may be offered during the spring semester.

Most Kinesiology courses are delivered in the classroom with some available online. The one-year certificate transfers into Kinesiology degree programs throughout Western Canada.

Our Biology and Medicine Pre-Major Associate degree helps lay out the courses you may need for the first two years of study toward a degree in Biology. This Associate degree also provides the course prerequisites for admission into the UBC School of Medicine while providing two of the first three required years of study before applying to medical school. College of the Rockies, Cranbrook offers its students a four year long bachelor of business administration program in Sustainable Business Practices that is specially curated for students who wish to work on responsible and sustainable initiative in a business environment. This program addresses a wide range of environmental and sustainability issue such social risk identification, strategies for improving performance, sustainability issues and personal effectiveness to instigate and lead change. This diploma allows students to study economics, accounting, general management and marketing and develop more specific knowledge in sustainable business practices.

Along with face to face lectures students are also taught through online and hybrid courses ad well as practical, hands on experiences in laboratories. This program works two ways, it provides employment after completion of the aforementioned program and this program also helps in maintaining a green economy which is beneficial for generations to come. This certificate program is delivered in a combination of face-to-face and online courses and is is awarded to students who successfully complete the one year certificate curriculum, a total of 30 credits.

The program is designed to prepare you for a potential career in the field of criminal or social justice or to further post-secondary education such as a bachelor degree.

In the criminal and social justice diploma program, you will:

• Study theories of human and social behavior, criminal justice system and cultural and institutional roots of crime and deviance
• Learn about oppression and marginalization and will further their understanding of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledge
• Develop effective skills in cross-cultural relations, communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Be provided opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills to further your post-secondary education or to prepare for a potential career within the field of criminal and social justice.

The Social Work Pre-Major consists of courses primarily focused on social sciences and humanities. Completion of the two-year Associate Degree prepares you for competitive admission into Year 3 in a Social Work degree program at many BC and Alberta institutions. This pre-major provides the first two full years of study toward your four-year degree. Your social work courses will be taken in the final two years of study.

This two-semester program exposes you to a combination of drawing, painting, sculpture, creative writing, and an overview of art history. The Fine Arts certificate program provides the opportunity to explore your creative side. Students take required courses which give them an overview of history, philosophy and practice.

Some courses in the program introduce you to an overview of history, philosophy and practice while others let you explore and develop your talents in creative writing, acting, painting, drawing, or sculpture.

Our Dual Admission agreement with University of Lethbridge means you can complete the Fine Art certificate at the College, enjoying small class sizes and lower tuition, before moving directly into your guaranteed seat at University of Lethbridge in one of their Bachelor of Fine Arts programs.

The Adventure Tourism and Business Operations (ATBO) program is ideal if you are passionate about adventure, sustainability, the environment and the outdoors and interested in working in the Adventure Tourism industry.

The name says it all. Get out of the classroom for some real, hands-on experience in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  This program is big on adventure but also focuses on those business skills you need to work in the tourism industry or to start your own tourism business, including entrepreneurship, marketing, sustainability and business training.

Your ATBO instructors are highly skilled guides in avalanche safety, rock climbing, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, backpacking, canoeing, and sea kayaking.
