Advanced Diploma in Environmental Technology (Co-op)

Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program.  The program prepares students to work under the direction of Occupational Therapists and/or Physiotherapists to support the therapeutic assessment, treatment and care of clients.  Curriculum delivered through both web-facilitated classroom and laboratory instruction includes the role of the OTA/PTA in relation to clients musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and neurological functions and conditions.  Students engage in three clinical placement opportunities throughout the program, including at least one placement each in an Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy setting.

This Graduate Certificate program will prepare students for supervisory and managerial positions in the broad transportation industry, with a particular focus on automotive service and repair. The program includes business curriculum including leadership and management, human resources, operations management, accounting, and business communications, and curriculum addressing multiple aspects of the transportation industry including automotive, truck and coach, paint and body, and agriculture operations. This unique combination of business and automotive courses will prepare graduates for a variety of positions within the transportation industry such as service consultant, parts advisor, warranty administrator, and customer relations.

Insurance and Risk Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program designed for university and college graduates looking for a career in the property and casualty insurance industry. This program will allow students to earn credits towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.

• Evaluate the clauses, terms and conditions of various insurance policy wordings in order to determine the appropriate coverage for complex risks.

This two-year conservatory program will give you practical experience in acting for the stage, mask work, play analysis, improv, and acting for the camera. You'll also take other specialized master classes and will work with professional artists on a graduating project that will come together as a professional production.

You'll be guided through a process of discovering a method of acting that brings out your full potential and you'll emerge with a deep understanding of Shakespeare, theatre history, movement for actors, and the business of acting. You'll emerge with a strong foundation for launching your professional career.

This two-year diploma in accounting is designed to prepare graduates to work in an accounting environment at the entry or intermediate accounting level. This accounting diploma program starts with accounting fundamentals and then moves to detailed accounting principles and concepts, including computerized accounting. When you graduate, you’ll have the skills required for success in a corporate accounting department in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, merchandising, small business accounting, banks and other financial institutions. You’ll also work in public accounting firms and federal, provincial and municipal government offices. This program is an ideal starting point for those seeking a career in accounting.

Construction Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma for students interested in overseeing the construction of residential, industrial and commercial projects. Students will learn to estimate project costs, develop a construction plan, schedule projects, and perform on-site inspections using the latest technology. Graduates will be prepared for their career by learning soft skills required to be an effective leader.

The Broadcast Journalism - Television News Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed to prepare informed, principled, creative and disciplined Broadcast Journalists for a career in Television News. The unique program focus is designed to train the news Videographer/Reporter/Producer. 

Program includes use of broadcast news gathering equipment, audio and visual, news writing, newscasting, news editing, interviewing, researching, TV video editing, TV news casting, TV production and practical Broadcast Journalism experience. The program includes an ongoing internship and a two-month internship program in March and April to be completed in newsrooms across Canada.

If you are interested in the behind the scenes action of television and film production, and are eager to get hands-on training in one of the largest and most state-of-the-art facilities in Canada, the Fanshawe Broadcasting - Television and Film Production program is for you.

You will work behind the camera producing a variety of films and shows that includes narratives, documentaries, live sports, news, commercials and promotions with your talented and passionate classmates. There are opportunities to produce, shoot or edit programs that will be aired throughout the region or shown at film festivals, reaching thousands of viewers. When you graduate, you will have experienced all areas of creative and technical roles including, studio production, cinematic production, field production, mobile sports production, computer graphics, post-production editing, scriptwriting and sales, marketing and entrepreneurship. You will have a dynamic set of skills for a dynamic industry.

Business - Finance (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. This program is designed to develop the skills needed to work in the growing personal financial services sector, from customer service to wealth management and financial planning. Students will learn to work with clients, evaluating their needs and offer advice on personal financial management, tax and retirement planning, insurance, investments, and estate planning, as well as customer relations and providing product to clients. Qualified graduates will have completed all the educational requirements leading to the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) designation awarded by the Financial Planning Standards Council www.fpsc.ca. and the Registered Retirement Consultant® RRC® designation awarded by CIFP.

Students are also prepared to write the Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program examinations as prerequisites to securities and life insurance licensing. Students will also have completed the Mutual Funds Licensing course.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.

The Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) Degree program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education in business management. The curriculum emphasizes that organizational success is achieved through effective leadership and is driven by people in all areas and departments within an organization. This four-year honours level degree includes a mandatory paid co-op work term between Levels 7 and 8 and is aligned with the Canadian Institute of Management professional program.
