Flight Attendants are ambassadors of the passenger experience in the Airline industry. In this program, students focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide exceptional passenger service and deal effectively with the travelling public. Through theory and hands on experience, students gain knowledge of the various duties and responsibilities of a flight attendant and how to provide quality service and leadership. Emphasis is placed on passenger safety and use of emergency equipment through simulated experiences.

This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the $15 billion Canadian golf industry, both on the golf course and off. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities. At the golf course level, students examine the many aspects of golf operations such as agronomy, hospitality, retail and golf event planning. Away from the golf course, students have the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths at facilities that support the game. Students gain professional and managerial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as practical experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses and golf industry properties.

This program prepares graduates to work collaboratively with registered pharmacists and the interprofessional health care team within their scope of practice. Students will learn dispensing and compounding skills using knowledge from labs and supervised clinical practice. Courses focus on professionalism, relevant legislations, pathophysiology, and pharmacology, customer care, software systems, and principles of quality assurance. Students will utilize current technologies for an understanding of inventory control and customer service to accurately prepare and dispense medication. Guiding principles of safe medication practice; including aseptic technique, accurate calculations and labelling, use of current, credible sources of information are emphasized in lectures, simulated labs and community and institutional placements.

Graduates of the program carry out human resources functions within the domestic and international business environments. Graduates are prepared to implement and evaluate plans for staffing, performance management, training, employee and labour relations, health and safety, and benefits and compensation administration functions. They are also able to apply communication, information technology, teamwork, leadership and organizational development strategies to support the human resources activities of an organization. They are able to contribute to a number of more complex functions supporting organizational effectiveness, including applying principles of financial analysis and control, collaborating in the design of an organization''s human resources plan, and in the preparation of an organization''s business plan.

The program provides a foundation in all of the functional business areas and a comprehensive education in specific accounting practices and theory. Students graduate ready to enter the workforce and support the accounting activities of any organization.

The complexity of industry's labour and entrepreneurial needs requires managers who can work with in a variety of settings and in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams. This program fills that need by providing project management training to candidates who require project management skills to ensure new ventures have potential for successful delivery. The program covers technical, leadership, business, and strategic management subjects with an emphasis on understanding and managing change as applied to project management.

Practical Experience:
Co-operative Education is a mandatory component of all Co-op programs at Georgian College; it has been designed as a process by which students integrate their academic education with work experience related to their programs of study. This integration affects much more than simply earning a salary, including the adjustment to the work environment and the development of professionalism. It also reinforces skills and theory learned during academic semesters, develops professional contacts, job knowledge and career path, improves human relations and communication skills, and promotes personal maturity and financial independence.

Students are requested to register, attend and participate in their scheduled co-operative education classes. These classes are scheduled for all first year students and are expected to be completed in order for students to proceed successfully to their first co-op work experiences. Georgian College follows the Co-operative Education guidelines set out by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE) and Education at Work Ontario (EWO) by supporting the learning outcomes designed for the program specific graduate profile and curriculum as set out by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities

Students are provided a degree-level education in business with a special focus on management and leadership. Students explore current issues, trends and technologies preparing them to adopt innovative approaches to evolving management and leadership issues. Entrepreneurship is a Georgian College signature learning experience, and a number of core and optional courses focused on entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship are offered. Interactive curriculum delivery in this program promotes critical thinking and problem solving. A strategically sequential co-op structure serves to maximize the link between theory and practice.

Students focus their learning on acquiring knowledge and skills in administrative-based courses by the use of diverse technology to be able to effectively perform in an executive environment. Students have the opportunity to develop supervisory, leadership, and training skills.

Students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. As they gain experience and background, they have course selection options to complement prescribed office administration curriculum and further their interests, skills, and career goals.
