Students are prepared to assist in a wide variety of entry-level office settings by gaining skills and knowledge to support the management of an organization. By learning three key and interdependent functions: organization, processing information, and communication, students achieve a solid foundation to allow for further educational growth. Students may elect to transition for an additional year into enhanced and specialized learning leading to an Office Administration–Health Services or Office Administration-Executive diploma.

Initially, students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. In their second semester, they have course selection options to complement the prescribed general curriculum. Students' interests, skills, and career goals may lead to year 2 of the Office Administration – Health Services or Office Administration-Executive diploma.

This one-year post-graduate diploma program is directed towards students wishing to pursue goldsmithing or silversmithing as a self-directed career.

Students will refine their jewellery and metalworking skills, develop their design abilities and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to design, produce and market jewellery, flatware and hollowware. Students specialize in either goldsmithing or silversmithing. Within their area of specialization, students choose a number of advanced techniques to concentrate on, and develop the in-depth knowledge and skills that would allow them to work independently or as designers.

• Goldsmith - A goldsmith is one who would design, as well as produce, jewelry as an employee or in one's own studio.
• Silversmith - A silversmith is one who would design, as well as produce, hollowware and flatware items as an employee or in one's own studio.

Program Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Design, develop and produce a portfolio of personal work (jewellery and metalwork) and a skills inventory;
• Be adaptable in applying various technical skills and aesthetic development to a wide variety of jobs in the jewellery and fine metals field;
• Respond to style and marketing trends in the industry;
• Plan and execute marketing and sales strategies;
• Design and fabricate products that would produce sales and marketing opportunities in wholesale and/or retail venues, such as Kempenfest, Muskoka Arts & Crafts, galleries and custom work;
• Recognize and identify materials as to their suitability for gem materials;
• Cut and polish various shapes of cabochon and faceted stones;
• Use advanced gem cutting and polishing techniques, including channel inlay and carving, and incorporate finished products into jewellery and hollowware;
• Understand the history and tradition of vessels and other regalia used in various religious rituals and domestic occasions;
• Use technical skills and dexterity in a variety of advanced metal working techniques as listed in the course descriptions, including reactive metal techniques, lathe work and machining, knifemaking and toolmaking;
• Apply their skill to the production aspects of the industry;
• Seek employment with an existing manufacturing or embark on a self-employment career such as a production studio;
• Work in design, production and/or retailing within the industry;
• Employ environmentally sustainable practices within the profession.

In this program, students develop and foster advanced creative and artistic ability in a variety of studio areas. Through practical and theortical mechanisms, students are challenged to achieve their individual goals and objectives as artists within a variety of traditional and non-traditional media. Students investigate critical perspectives, synthesize advanced skills and apply advanced evaluative techniques. Students gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for professional practice and self-employment, necessary to successfully operate within the various professions of fine art.

In this program, students are prepared with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required for the Esthetics Industry. Students in this program are able to provide spa modalities, such as make up and specialized skin, body and hand/foot treatments. In addition, business applications required to run a small business are emphasized. This program has been designed with the intent to academically prepare students for international testing and to inspire a passion for the health and wellness industry.

The philosophy and curriculum of this collaborative program incorporate and utilize the concepts of caring and human science as the basis of nursing practice. Students work collaboratively with peers and faculty to explore nursing knowledge and caring practice. 

In the classroom, student learning activities focus on the nursing care of individuals, families, groups and the global community. In the practice setting, under the guidance of a practicum mentor or preceptor, students integrate knowledge from program courses to provide holistic, client-centred nursing care. In order to provide quality practicum placements, students are placed in a variety of agencies in the region serviced by the campus. Students are required to provide their own transportation to practicum placements.

NOTE: Years 1 and 2 are offered at Georgian and years 3 and 4 are offered through York University.

This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) in developing themselves further as a nurse practicing in acute complex care and prepare them with the clinical skills to work in an acute complex care setting in Ontario. Emphasis is placed on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practice in acute primary care, and guidance of others as part of the health care team. Students gain advanced theoretical and experiential knowledge in pharmacology, health assessment and emergency nursing through classroom instruction, simulation labs and practicum placements.

Students are instructed in the use of current Web and Internet technologies to create innovative, interactive products for a variety of users, platforms, and devices. They are taught to plan, design, and develop engaging and intuitive user interfaces. Courses cover the use of current technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the Document Object Model (DOM), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and a variety of popular scripting frameworks. With a focus on user-centred design, students apply human-computer interaction principles, standards-based technologies, and web application best practices to create an accessible, usable, and captivating user experience

This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) to work as part of an inter-professional healthcare team in geriatric and palliative care settings. Students acquire the knowledge and expertise to enhance an individual’s quality of living and dying as part of an end of life process.  To meet the individual needs of the client during this transitional phase of their life, students examine current theories and explore best practices to build skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Through a combination of classroom instruction and lab, students focus on the importance of communication, spirituality, ethics, law and culturally responsive nursing care for an aging or end-of-life population.  Students will have an opportunity to consolidate their classroom learning with one practicum placement in a variety of settings that may include hospital, community, home care or long term care.

• Communicate effectively to strengthen interprofessional collaborative practice in the delivery of person and family-centred care;
• Provide holistic and culturally responsive care to geriatric and palliative clients and families to ease the stress of aging and/or dying an death;
• Comply with legislation, regulations and ethical standards in the provision of care for geriatric and palliative clients within the health care context;
• Apply an evidence-based perspective to inform care plans, programs and services for geriatric and palliative clients;
• Develop and use personal/professional strategies and plans for professional growth and to improve job performance in a Canadian health care operations context;
• Evaluate the efficacy of care measures delivered to geriatric and palliative clients to manage their symptoms and ensure comfort.

This program is designed to give students knowledge and hands-on experience in Aviation and Management as well as provide co-operative work experience in the Aviation industry. A variety of aviation courses provide students with a solid understanding of the aviation industry in Canada and around the world. Students are given the opportunity to pass the examination to receive their Restricted Aeronautical Radio Operation License. Management courses are designed to give students an understanding of management practices and procedures in order to be prepared for future promotional opportunities.

This program provides students with a degree-level education in business management with an applied focus for the automotive industry. Students learn current issues, trends and technologies that prepare them in adopting proactive approaches in identifying and responding to changes in the automotive industry. Instruction, lecture and discussion delivery promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills and classes will often include a guest speaker series with industry representatives in attendance. Labs are a substantial part of the program and the student run Auto Show is the largest lab of its kind in Canada. A strategically sequential co-op structure serves to maximize the link between theory and practice.
