Humber’s International Development graduate certificate program is designed for individuals who want to see the world and make a difference within it. This program provides graduates with the skills and knowledge required to manage, develop and grow international development and disaster relief projects anywhere in the world. Graduates may find themselves in some of the most difficult environments in the world, or they may work in developed countries changing policies to make a difference in the Global South. Faculty are chosen for their field expertise and experience in international development – most continue to work with numerous international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or United Nations agencies while teaching at Humber part time.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.
Duration
Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.
20 Hours/Week
As a full-time student, you can work for a maximum of 20 hours a week. However, you can work full- time during holidays and breaks.

There is no maximum limit, and you can work for as many hours as you want on the full-time work permit.

Humber’s Bachelor of International Development degree program is an interdisciplinary program that provides you with a solid theoretical foundation in sustainable international development studies and its related disciplines, as well as professional and technical skills in development management. Diploma in Community and Justice Services
Humber’s Community and Justice Services diploma program focuses on both the community and the institutional sectors of the justice system. Our curriculum combines theory and applied skills, giving you the breadth of knowledge and experience needed to meet the demands of an entry-level position in this field. You’ll be prepared for occupations where you will work with offenders and other high-risk client groups and will explore the development of community programs, restorative justice initiatives and preventative measures. In addition, we practise inclusivity from a broad anti-oppressive perspective and place a strong emphasis on the practice of interpersonal, problem-solving and assessment skills.
Our faculty are skilled, committed, and have direct work experience within community and institutional correctional services. As a result, our program boasts strong community links. Additionally, experts also deliver further specialized community justice training. Humber’s Public Relations graduate certificate program is recognized by industry as one of Canada’s leading training grounds for public relations professionals. This intensive program is focused on preparing you to launch your degree and getting you ready for your first day of your work placement. You will learn how to plan, develop and execute effective public relations strategies. You will build critical skills in event planning, public speaking and presentation.

Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communications
Humber’s Advertising and Marketing Communications diploma program will equip you with promotional writing, presentation and organizational skills, as well as introductory design, basic production and supplier management skills. Courses in advertising, marketing communications, public relations and project co-ordination will give you a keen awareness of the breadth of your employment opportunities.

Humber’s Social Service Worker diploma program prepares you to work with people in a professional helping role. Approaching your education from an individual and a community perspective, you will learn how to empower and advocate for people to meet their goals and to access needed services and programs.
Skilled, committed faculty with real-life work experience in the human services field teach with a focus on promoting equity and addressing barriers people face on the basis of race, class, disabilities, gender or sexual orientation.
