It is an exciting time to be a nursing student at Lambton College. Students work in Simulation Labs with both high-tech equipment and simulated patients (actors), providing students with learning experiences that are truly rewarding and unique. Lambton College prepares future nurses so they may enter the health care profession with both required knowledge and hands-on skills to be successful practitioners. Students will experience the importance of smaller class sizes and individual attention by faculty enriching the learning experience. 

Lambton College partners with the University of Windsor to deliver the BScN program. Beginning in the Fall of 2019, the collaboration embarks on a new curriculum designed to meet the evolving needs of the 21st century nursing student and future nurse. In this multi-disciplined program, students in the Lambton College Facilities and Property Management, Ontario College Graduate Certificate utilize existing related education or experience to learn and apply a variety of skills to help operate, administer and manage facility and property operations. In this program, students study the skills and knowledge associated with facility and property administration, including land use, property evaluation, financing, site administration and maintenance and owner/management relations. Students develop a foundation of business skills, including communications, accounting, human resources, relationship managing and marketing strategies that apply to the property facility and management industries of today.

Co-op placement opportunities help students gain valuable work experience that may assist them in finding permanent employment after they graduate. Today's successful photographers know more than just their cameras - they're ready to design, edit, market, connect, write and sell.

The Lambton College Advanced Photography program is a two-year, Ontario College graduate certificate program that provides students with the opportunity to expand their skills to work as professionals in the ever-evolving field of photography. Student learn advanced photography and post-production skills, as well as, learn how to utilize drones for professional photographic images.

Our students prepare for this fast-paced and expanding career using modern digital photographic equipment in a state-of-the-art photography studio. The program is laptop-based and fully hybrid (a combination of both online and in-class learning), offering students the benefits of flexible learning.

In today's Canadian photography industry, entrepreneurial spirit along with working with clients is paramount. As such, the curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including design and composition, digital darkroom, lighting and camera skills, and full, robust portfolio development. At the core of the program is our state-of-practice photography and video studio, equipped with strobe, video and continuous light kits. Students work in this space both individually and as a group, using professional quality equipment.

The Financial Planning & Wealth Management Graduate Certificate program prepares university and college graduates for an exciting and rewarding career in the financial services sector. Students will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and selling skills required to work in banks, credit unions, mutual fund companies, investment dealers, stock brokerages, independent financial planning firms and insurance companies. The final term of study includes a co-op in the financial services industry so that students can gain experience through practical work or through an Applied Project.

Salon and spa service providers across the globe are looking for qualified Estheticians to work with their clients. Our graduates set themselves apart from the competition by training in one of the largest training labs in Canada, with state-of-the-art facilities that prepares them for this growing profession.

The Esthetician program is an Ontario College Diploma offered over three consecutive terms. A graduate from this program will have completed an official two-year Ontario College Diploma in only 12 months.

Students learn a full range of spa services including semi-permanent hair removal, body treatments, makeup applications, manicures and pedicures. Curriculum emphasizes general business, sales, professionalism, and health and safety.

Students graduate with a recognized Ontario College Diploma and over 600 hours of practical hands-on experience while training at The Spa at Lambton, as well as comprehensive in-class education from qualified and experienced instructors. The Spa at Lambton is a live practical lab where students provide esthetic services and practice business skills in preparation for spa management or ownership. Clients from the community eagerly await the opening of The Spa every semester.

Students have the opportunity to take a field placement course that exposes them to many different esthetic locations including retail based operations, day spas and more. This experience allows them to familiarize themselves with a variety of potential work environments. It is also a great way for students to make valuable connections with potential future employers.

The Occupational Health & Safety Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is a multi-disciplinary program that is designed to encompass a broad range of knowledge in occupational health, safety and environmental management systems that are critical to an organizations success. This program provides students with a strong health and safety foundation by developing the competencies required for the effective development, implementation and evaluation of health and safety systems in occupational settings.

Emphasis is placed upon learning the application of legislation and recognizing, controlling and evaluation workplace hazards. This program will enable students to become leaders in health and safety by motivating proactive behavioural change. Students will anticipate and employ strategies to manage emerging health, safety and environmental issues while examining accident theories, emergency response planning, ergonomic principles, risk management principles and the promotion of workplace safety and wellness.

The three-year Business Administration program prepares graduates for a world of business and educational opportunities combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. For those looking to work for an existing corporation, to start their own business, or continue their education with one of Lambton's university pathways, this is the right program for you!

This program has been developed specifically for students to personalize their program of study to suit their abilities and interested and put them on the best possible path for employment. During the first year, students will participate in an active learning environment and be exposed to a curriculum that builds a solid knowledge base of the major areas of business. This lays a foundation for the areas of concentration and for the development of teamwork, leadership, and research skills.

Experiential Learning Opportunities
Because practical work experiences are vital, students are given the option to participate in a co-op work experience in term 5. This provides exposure to a business environment and could provide valuable work experience. In the final year of the program, students will take the entrepreneurship capstone courses which combine assessments and curriculum to challenge the students to utilize all of their knowledge, skills and abilities gained over the course of their program, in a series of culminating reports and presentations that showcase a capstone project. Real world corporate partners are engaged to provide students with even greater experiential learning opportunities.

The Lambton College Biomaterials & Chemical Laboratory Analysis - Applied Science, Ontario College Graduate Certificate, two-year program provides focused, experiential education to meet the demands of the energy, advanced materials, cannabis and other natural health product industries. 

In this program, students study advanced concepts in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics and mathematics applied to chemical analysis and complex problem solving in a hands-on laboratory environment.

Students conduct tests and develop solutions to problems in analyses of raw materials, products, or environmental samples, synthesize organic or inorganic compounds and prepare reports and technical documentation related to chemical analyses. Within the laboratory environment, graduates implement, coordinate and evaluate quality assurance and quality control procedures, in accordance with international and industry standards and government regulations. The program prepares students to analyze natural products, energy and advanced materials for quality and contribute to research and development.

As the health care system in Canada evolves, the demand for Personal Support workers is increasing in long term care facilities, retirement homes, home care settings and hospitals. 

The Personal Support Worker program prepares graduates to provide care and assistance to clients of any age who have defined health care needs including help with their activities of daily living. Through theory classes and experiential learning opportunities, including simulation and clinical placements, the student will learn to make a difference in clients' lives by alleviating loneliness, providing empathy, ensuring comfort, encouraging independence, and promoting self-respect in all health care settings. 

As part of the program, students will also complete The Fundamental of Hospice Palliative Care Certificate and the Gentle Persuasive Approaches Certificate. 

The Border Services program provides foundational knowledge and experiential hands on-learning to individuals who aspire to work as border services officers.

During the first year, a broad theoretical foundation is provided on human relations, mental health, critical interpersonal, communication and team building skills and an overview of the criminal justice system. The second year focuses on courses specific to determining admissibility of persons, goods and conveyances into Canada, legislation, documentation and technology required to move goods and people across the border. In addition, students will acquire important communication skills, dispute resolution and critical thinking skills required as Canada's first line of defense.

Students also achieve certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training from the Crisis Prevention Institute and Introduction to Incident Management System (IMS-100) from Emergency Management Ontario. The goal of the Border Services program is to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for not only a career in public safety but also as a foundation for continual educational pathways into related fields of study.

Our criminal justice lab offers students the opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice in an innovative real world setting. By moving beyond theory, students learn by doing and get first-hand experience of practicing what has been taught. Students also gain volunteer hours and field related experience through participation in Lambton College's student run Safe Walk program. Lambton College's faculty is diverse representing the criminal justice system, police, border, security and other related professionals. Specialized courses within the program have an interdisciplinary focus and allow students from various first responder courses to learn together in the classroom and in scenarios. These experiential learning opportunities, coupled with small class sizes, ensures students receive a quality educational experience.
