The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technician certificate program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to work as a technician in the electrical and electronics fields. This program offers a broad range of skill-based training in fundamental areas such as math, physical science, electrical circuits, critical thinking, problem-solving, research, communication, and teamwork as well as technical skills such as installation, testing, operation, maintenance, analyzing and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic circuits, equipment and systems.

Throughout the program, students will learn and apply the knowledge and skills in a real, practical, and simulated environment through lectures, extensive hands-on activities, and individual or team projects.

Please note: Students who have successfully completed the Network Support program have the opportunity to enter directly into the second year of the Network Administration program.

The Business Administration: Financial Management program will prepare you to write the Canadian Securities Course Examination or the Canadian Investment Funds Exam. Graduates of the two-year Business Administration program who have achieved a minimum of a 70% average each program year may be able to transfer into the third year of a four-year degree program at Cape Breton University (CBU) or the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ). In the second year, students focus on subjects that relate to highway and municipal systems, including highway engineering, water, and sanitary systems, fluid mechanics, and environmental planning.

Students will learn and apply the knowledge and skills throughout the program in a real, practical, and simulated environment through lectures, extensive hands-on activities, and individual or team projects.

This includes the cutting and layout through to fitting and fabrication, as well as common welding processes such as shielded metal arc, flux cored arc, and gas metal arc. Our program pairs in-depth coursework with hands-on welding and fabricating experience in order to get you job-ready.
