Our Justice Studies: Corrections program is designed to provide students the knowledge and skills required for individuals aspiring to a career as a Correctional Officer or other related fields of criminal justice. If you choose to continue your education in criminology or other related fields, your NBCC diploma is a great foundation. Graduates can, for example, apply their respective two-year NBCC diploma to be credited for up to two years of a four-year university degree making a seamless transition from college to university. Automotive Service Technicians are vehicle surgeons. They know how to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including: steering, electrical, suspension, brakes, engines, fuel, exhaust, electronics and accessories for these systems. You’ll become an expert in vehicle anatomy and you’ll learn how to master shop tools and techniques such as brazing, cutting, and welding. With half a million vehicles on the road in New Brunswick, Automotive Service Technicians have their work lined up.

Welders use electric arc and oxy-fuel to heat and meld metal. The forms created by welders benefit a wide range of industries, including: aerospace, automotive, construction, and manufacturing. The one-year Applied Energy Management Graduate Certificate program is designed for graduates with an engineering degree or diploma to further their education and seek an opportunity for effective energy management in the commercial building industry. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the growing workforce needs in energy management, energy auditing, innovation, entrepreneurship, and design and development of efficient new energy systems for a commercial building or facility.

The program offers a broad range of skill-based training in commercial building automation, efficient building operation, energy auditing, and energy management including solar energy. Students will learn to apply new energy-efficient technologies and innovative solutions to conservation, sustainability, and management of energy and efficiency for ventilation, heating and cooling, lighting, office equipment, and building automation and control systems in commercial buildings. Students will also learn how to perform energy assessments and cost-benefit analysis, work on energy management practices, and plan and create an energy solution for a commercial building. Through classroom theory and hands-on activities, students will learn how to apply those commercial building energy management concepts to an actual commercial building operation.

In our Bricklaying program, you’ll learn techniques for reading blueprints, cutting, mortar, wall building, masonry repair, rigging and scaffolding as well as building codes and quality standards. The Educational Support program prepares learners for a career in educational settings supporting students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, sensory or physical disabilities and behavioural challenges. This program will prepare learners to be part of a multidisciplinary team that supports students with diverse learning needs while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment that promotes students’ well-being.

Within this two-year diploma program, learners also participate in experiential and applied learning opportunities that allow further integration of theory and application.

Carpentry is a performance-driven career. Carpenters work with their hands to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures for residential and light commercial use. In addition to practical skills such as framing walls, siding and drywall installation, constructing wooden forms for pouring concrete, and erecting scaffolding, you’ll also learn about codes, standards, and quality concepts that apply to carpentry. As experts in home and business improvement, carpenters are called upon to make dreams possible and lives easier and more enjoyable.

Mechanical Technicians are experts in mechanical devices and manufacturing. They have a unique skill set that shares common practices with Industrial Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering Technologists. You'll learn the basic functions of pipefitting, welding, rigging, electrical and machining. Our programs offers hands-on training in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, cooling and exhaust systems in industrial plants. Mechanical Technicians have a wide training base that offers employers two specialized forms of knowledge in a competitive job market.

The Social Service Community Worker program prepares learners for a career in the social and human services fields. By working with and supporting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, graduates can bring about meaningful change within society.

Learners acquire knowledge and ability in the areas of human development and relations, family dynamics and support, interpersonal communications, counseling, program planning, social policy and legislation, and advocacy. In this program, there’s a focus on how to effectively intervene and work with a diverse clientele who may be experiencing poverty, domestic violence, social, emotional, behavioral or mental health trauma, or other challenging life events.
