We introduce you to metal processing, basic welding and cutting, sheet metal work, machine shop practices, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will progress from simple hand and machine processes to more exacting operations such as machining, fitting and reassembly. The trade theory and practical work of this program are supported by instruction in trade-related mathematics, physics, communications, blueprint reading, shop safety and basic metallurgy.

The one-year Applied Energy Management Graduate Certificate program is designed for graduates with an engineering degree or diploma to further their education and seek an opportunity for effective energy management in the commercial building industry. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the growing workforce needs in energy management, energy auditing, innovation, entrepreneurship, and design and development of efficient new energy systems for a commercial building or facility.

The program offers a broad range of skill-based training in commercial building automation, efficient building operation, energy auditing, and energy management including solar energy. Students will learn to apply new energy-efficient technologies and innovative solutions to conservation, sustainability, and management of energy and efficiency for ventilation, heating and cooling, lighting, office equipment, and building automation and control systems in commercial buildings. Students will also learn how to perform energy assessments and cost-benefit analysis, work on energy management practices, and plan and create an energy solution for a commercial building. Through classroom theory and hands-on activities, students will learn how to apply those commercial building energy management concepts to an actual commercial building operation.

The Community Pharmacy Assistant program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to be employed as a pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy setting.

Areas of study include anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, communication skills, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacy calculations, non-sterile compounding techniques, long term care pharmacy, receiving and entering a prescription, pharmacy software, inventory and third-party billing.
