This program develops the skills you require to assist dentists using four-handed dentistry techniques.
As a dental assisting student, you will learn about dental procedures, including the instruments, materials, and equipment used for each.  You will also learn how to prevent the transmission of disease/infection through infection control techniques, e.g. sterilization.  You will also learn basic laboratory skills, e.g. pouring models.  The program will also prepare you to work as an intra-oral assistant by developing skills to perform the following procedures:

• Polishing of teeth
• Application of fluoride
• Exposing radiographs
• Placement and removal of dental dam
• Placement of sealants
• Taking impressions
• Placement of matrices and wedges
• Application of liners, bases, topical anesthetic, and desensitizing agents
• Removal of sutures
• Fabrication and delivery of whitening trays and mouth guards

To broaden your skills and knowledge of business related procedures, you will study basic accounting, records maintenance, business correspondence, billings, and appointment control.
During the practicum, you will have the opportunity to work with dental students at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Dentistry and in a private general dental office, performing the skills you learned in the classroom, lab, and clinic.
The Notre Dame Campus program includes a practicum during which you will work with dental students at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Dentistry and in a general dental office.

Gain the knowledge and skills needed to work in therapeutic and leisure recreational programming and services for older adults. You will learn to plan, promote, deliver and evaluate effective programs for clientele in various settings, including: personal care homes, extended hospital care, adult day centres, assisted living and other community based programs.

Workplace safety, privacy and health regulations are key components of the program. You will be taught by industry-experienced instructors through integrated workplace experience and two field work placements.

This program prepares you to provide quality childcare in the community. You will study practice based on:

An emergent curriculum approach building on the interests of children, and working closely with families and communities is emphasized.

Upon successful completion of the program you will be able to competently plan learning experiences that stimulate the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of young children.

The Architectural Technology diploma program is a comprehensive, two year, direct entry program consisting of four 16-week semesters. You will complete a four month co-operative work term between year one and year two that will provide you with related and practical experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction. Upon graduation from the program, career options available to you may include working with:

• Interior Designers
• Home Builders
• Contractors
• Fabricators

In the Architectural Technology program, you will experience a wide-ranging curriculum of courses that emphasize the learning and practical application of current design and constructions techniques. You will take advanced courses and build on competencies gained as you move from semester to semester. Courses include subjects such as:

• Building Science
• Structural Systems
• Codes and Standards
• Project Management
• Specifications and Contract Administration
• Green Building and Sustainability

Co-op work experience

• 4 month co-op work experience between year one and year two

• Develop the necessary skills for an entry-level administration position in a legal setting.
• You will learn how to prepare legal documentation for real estate, civil litigation, wills and estates, domestic and family law, business, and appeals. You will also gain hands-on experience through the program’s practicum component.
• This may be an ideal program for those re-entering the workforce or developing a new career path in the legal profession. 

This program is designed to increase your fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and help you to gain knowledge of Deaf culture and Deaf history so that you can effectively interact with Deaf individuals.

Deaf persons can benefit from this program by learning more about their own language, culture, and history.

• Inclusion of introductory ASL learning - no prerequisite courses required;
• "Bring Your Own Laptop" will allow students to access learning on demand.

Civil Engineering Technology is a cluster of diploma programs that provides students with career training in construction engineering, environmental engineering, and geomatics technologies.

During the first year, you will acquire generic competencies in common core courses in the following areas:

• Algebra and trigonometry (M)
• Chemistry
• Statics and strength of materials (M)
• Surveying (M)
• Technical communications
• Computer applications
• Technical drafting
• WHMIS
• General Safety Trainin

Important Advisory Note: Courses designated (M) are high in mathematical content.  If you have weak mathematical skills, or if you completed Essentials Math in high school (instead of the recommended Applied Math or Pre-Calculus Math), it is strongly recommended that you take the preparatory Mathematics for Technology course available throughout Continuing Education at RRC, prior to beginning the program.

Prior to starting the program, you will be invited to attend a program overview information session.  You will also be invited to participate in a math and reading skills diagnostic testing session that will advise you of your program readiness.  Although the diagnostic testing is optional, we strongly recommend that you participate.  Should your results be lower than a C (60%) you would benefit from taking the Mathematics for Technology course as a pre-program refresher.

After completion of the first year courses, you would then apply and develop these competencies during a six-month co-operative education work term.

In the second and third years*, you take more advanced courses and build on the competencies you gained in first year. The focus is on application and design. To enter into subsequent terms (both academic and co-op), and to graduate, you need a minimum cumulative term grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00.

Prepare for a career as a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinist or general machinist.  Learn to set up and operate CNC and manual metal cutting machines, interpret engineering drawings, apply geometric dimensioning and use CAD software.

Graduates will be competent in the following:

• Applying safe and correct practices when handling tools and equipment
• Setting up and safely operating manual milling machines, lathes, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining and turning centers
• Interpreting engineering drawings
• Applying geometric dimensioning to verify component parts
• Using basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
• Studies consist of theory and practical training.

Graduates of the program may find career opportunities as CNC operators or machinist apprentices in a wide variety of industries including:

Business Administration provides the student with a broad business foundation during the first year of studies. During the second year of the program, the student will declare a major that focuses their studies in a particular area, either Accounting, Administration, Financial Services, Marketing or Human Resource Management.

Some courses focus on theoretical foundations, others will emphasize application of knowledge. Group projects are integral to many courses offered in this program.

Business, Accounting and Management is a comprehensive program that helps you develop skills in the core areas of business. It also provides you with up-to-date training in computers, accounting, business writing and human resource management. Your online education is supplemented by work-integrated learning, where you will gain valuable experience in a business environment that is immediately applicable in the workforce. Upon completion of the program, you will be ready for employment in a business or accounting environment.
