This program trains you for entry-level employment as an engineering technologist in the electrical industry, which provides a broad range of employment opportunities. You develop the conceptual knowledge base and troubleshooting skills to prepare you for a range of roles that include design, installation, maintenance, production, and technical sales and support.

Topics in the program include:

• Use and application of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency motor drives (VFDs), soft starters, and data communication to link all of the preceding elements for the control of manufacturing systems.
• Planning, designing, and specifications of power systems with motor protection for buildings and industrial plants. You will generate AutoCAD drawings, calculate short circuit currents, and coordinate fuses, circuit breakers, and protective relays. Canadian Electrical Code instruction is delivered by journeyman electricians.
• Hydro electric power generation, transmission, and distribution systems with a view to operation, control, and protection.
• Assessment of power system harmonics concerns by measuring TDD and THD and offering solutions to improve performance.

Note: First year of the program will be held at the Exchange District Campus before transferring to the main Notre Dame Campus for the rest of the program.

This program gives you an understanding of the basic purpose, construction, operation, and service of component parts and assemblies of an automobile.
You will develop the knowledge and skills required to disassemble, inspect, machine, calibrate and reassemble motor vehicle units and components. You will study internal combustion engines, automatic and standard transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical circuits, wiring, and fuel systems.
Most training will take place at RRC’s auto mechanics workshop, an environment that will give you the practical experience required for industry employment. You will also acquire industry work experience as part of this program.
Prior to starting the program, you will be invited to attend a program overview information session. You will also be invited to participate in a math and reading skills diagnostic testing session that will advise you of your program readiness.

Magnetic resonance uses magnetism, radio waves and computers to acquire medical images. Although still a young technology, it has become firmly rooted in medical practice, particularly for:

• Studying the cardiovascular system 
• Detecting tumours, especially in the brain and spinal column
• Studying body chemistry and functions
• Imaging soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons or arteries

The unique nature of this technology presents special imaging, patient care, and safety requirements. Since magnetic resonance does not involve the use of ionizing radiation, radiation protection is unnecessary.
Magnetic resonance scans require sliding patients into a body-length tunnel - the core of the magnetic field. The image obtained from magnetic resonance scan generally appears on a computer monitor, or as a photograph or computer printouts.

The Applied Accounting program is designed to provide you with the necessary skills to provide entry level accounting support. In addition to developing basic accounting and computer skills, the program includes courses in general business practices.  

While the program highlights accounting topics, emphasis will also be placed on:

• Mathematics
• Business management
• Communication
• Records management
• Business software

This program provides you with the skills and knowledge to work with children and youth experiencing behavioural and emotional difficulties. You will learn how to intervene and assess situations and formulate strategies to help children, youth, and their families identify and resolve concerns and enhance their quality of life.

The program covers the dynamics of human development within a multicultural perspective. Courses include child and adolescent development, special issues affecting child and youth care, and care for children who have emotional or behavioural difficulties.

This program includes training in relationship development, group process, and family dynamics. It also includes skill-oriented family support and intervention courses, child and youth care methods, listening skills, and activities programming.

Prepare for a career as a Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinist or general machinist.  Learn to set up and operate CNC and manual metal cutting machines, interpret engineering drawings, apply geometric dimensioning and use CAD software.

Graduates will be competent in the following:

• Applying safe and correct practices when handling tools and equipment
• Setting up and safely operating manual milling machines, lathes, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining and turning centers
• Interpreting engineering drawings
• Applying geometric dimensioning to verify component parts
• Using basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
• Studies consist of theory and practical training.

Graduates of the program may find career opportunities as CNC operators or machinist apprentices in a wide variety of industries including:

Prepare for a range of career opportunities while exploring advanced technologies, including computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, advanced multi-axis CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D Printing) and robotics and automation. You will be able to gain hands-on training through a work practicum elective.

CO-OP/Practicum Information
An optional work integrated term that integrates classroom theory and shop experience with related on-the-job training. This program includes two weeks of unpaid work experience. This work integrated learning experience will help you to have credible experience in your profession before graduation.

This is an entry-level program that develops the basic knowledge and skills you need to perform routine maintenance and repairs to vehicle systems and components. The program is designed to prepare you to adjust, service, and repair a variety of heavy mobile equipment, usually diesel powered, used in construction, agriculture, or highway transportation. The work will involve basic servicing to engines and related equipment, and performing repairs. This will include transmission servicing, hydraulic/air brakes, and basic electrical in heavy duty application.

Emphasis during training will be on practical projects. Most of your training will take place at the College in the diesel mechanics workshop, a work environment designed to provide the practical experience you will need to find a job. You will spend approximately 60 percent of your training hours doing practical work on engines, standard transmissions, automatic transmissions, basic electric, basic brake systems, and servicing of equipment.

A number of related trade courses such as arc and gas welding, mathematics, science, and communications are included in the program. Theory grades are determined by examinations in each course, while practical evaluations are determined from each instructor's practical assignments.

The need for expertise in international business is growing in Canada. The International Business program prepares you to meet the challenges of adapting to the global marketplace.

Small classes are taught by a team of professionals who have real business experience. They offer innovative projects designed to apply international business theory through case study and discussion. You will be given opportunities to listen to guest speakers and to participate in relevant conferences, seminars, and other events.

Student teams will work with a local enterprise to prepare a marketing plan for entry into a new foreign market. Your plan will be evaluated by a panel of judges.

You will be required to complete a minimum six-week work experience component (assistance provided by RRC).  

Take this program to gain a broad business background if you do not meet the admission requirements for the two-year Business Administration program. This three-year program will help you develop a potential for supervision, management, and leadership through the study of business-related programs and practical projects. With these foundations you may choose a career from a variety of job opportunities in the business community.

The modified pace in the first two years gives you additional time to upgrade your skills and knowledge and to meet your individual needs.  In the third year, you take courses along with students in the two-year Business Administration program.  Upon graduation you receive a Business Administration diploma.
