This graduate certificate program is geared to experienced internationally educated nurses holding a bachelor's degree in nursing. The program will support you in acquiring essential nursing knowledge and skills required to practice within the Canadian healthcare system, with a focus on caring for seniors throughout the continuum of care. The Protection, Security and Investigation program prepares graduates in a wide range of skills, enabling them to pursue careers in customs administration and brokering and public safety. The program has a common first year with the other criminal justice cluster program, Police Foundations. The program deals with the development, purpose, and operation of the legal system generally, and law enforcement related to customs, immigration, and security specifically. It also involves knowledge of security operations to protect persons and property in both the private and industrial settings. A new component in the program will introduce students to firefighter and emergency care operations. Understanding human behaviour and the development of strong interpersonal and communications skills will prepare the graduate to function more effectively and humanely in professions which demand mature and responsible reactions. The Computer Programmer Analyst advanced diploma program (2091) is designed for those students who have completed and shown above-average competencies in the Computer Programmer diploma program (2090) and who wish to continue to develop programming analysis skills. The Computer Programmer is four semesters and the Computer Programmer Analyst program provides an additional two semesters or third year of study.

Skills developed in the four-semester Computer Programmer (2090) program will be expanded upon with a third year of study in the Computer Programmer Analyst program (2091). The Computer Programmer Analyst program places an emphasis on developing analytical skills and working on team-based projects. The first semester (of the third year of study) is classroom based where students will learn and apply various technologies including JavaScript, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, PHP, server side java, mobile application development and databases in an application driven team environment. The final semester consists of a 4-month work experience. Students spend approximately 400 hours on-site at a local business or agency within a programming team, gaining valuable practical experience.

Please Note: Semesters 1 to 4 are taken in the 2-year Computer Programmer program. Upon successful completion of the Computer Programmer program, students will have the option to enter semester 5 of the Computer Programmer Analyst program. (subject to enrolment)

The Office Administration - Executive program is an accelerated course of study that will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills and productivity tools needed to be a key part of the success in today`s highly specialized offices. In only three semesters taken consecutively, you can master the skills and knowledge traditionally offered in a full two-year semester program, earning you an Ontario College diploma in only 46 weeks.

The program includes a work placement to ensure you have the experience and connections you need to succeed in business, while providing you with in-depth training in all major software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, database management, desktop publishing, webpage design, the Internet, and automated accounting. Emphasis is also placed on developing your decision-making, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, so you can be ready to embrace the opportunities before you.

This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed to bridge the economic, environmental and social issues that influence communities. Students will develop expertise, skills and knowledge in sustainable community and business development by participating in theory and practice in the field with a focus on the current needs and trends of sustainable societies, communities, and organizations.

This program introduces effective tools to bring collaboration, dialogue, environmental protection and resource stewardship to the social, ecological and economic implications of change in varying communities. Students will develop strategies influencing the elements of environmental health to address challenges faced in developing a sustainable society.

Sault College and Humber College are partnering to offer an innovative opportunity for post-secondary learners. Beginning September 2021, the Colleges will co-deliver the Bachelor of Engineering - Mechatronics, allowing students to study at either Sault College – Sault Ste. Marie Campus or Humber’s North Campus. This collaboration strengthens opportunities for learners, particularly those in the North, to study in exciting and emerging fields while living closer to home.

The Bachelor of Engineering – Mechatronics discipline gives you hands-on experience with industry-standard advanced technology. You can choose from focused study in either robotics or embedded systems.  During the course of  the program, students will solve real industry and community problems and gain knowledge and skills in mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer engineering. Students use emerging and cutting edge  technologies in robotics, control, electronics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), motors, mechanical components, digital and analog circuits, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), machine learning, modeling, simulation, embedded systems, and advanced manufacturing. Each of these themes provides theoretical knowledge alongside hands-on training to complement a systems-thinking approach to solving real world problems. 

In addition, this program provides an opportunity to work on industry-led projects through multidisciplinary capstone projects as well as applied research opportunities. Through these experiences, students apply the theoretical knowledge gained during their education to solve real industry problems, while improving their professional skills such as teamwork, communication, collaboration and problem-solving.

The General Arts and Science UniversityTransfer diploma gives you the opportunity to explore a wide variety of subject areas such as communications, social sciences, humanities, the arts or math and science at a postsecondary level, and discover what it is that interests you. The UniversityTransfer diploma program also provides you with an excellent foundation for a university education, another diploma program or a career that requires wide-ranging and flexible, transferable skills, which meet the needs of many employers. This program can be taken full or part time allowing you flexibility in your studies.

This program is designed to prepare graduates for admission to Ontario College Certificate and Diploma programs at Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology in the health sciences or other related programs in the biological or chemical sciences.

The program provides students with the knowledge and skills in communication, mathematics, human anatomy, biology and chemistry needed to be successful in health and science-related college programs. In addition, the program provides students with the opportunity to learn about potential careers in the health sciences and to identify other college programs focusing on the biological or chemical sciences that will enable them to achieve their career objectives.
This is a two-semester certificate-level program leading to an Ontario College Certificate or Diploma.

Are you unsure of what to study at the post-secondary level? This program is designed to help you choose the path that is right for you. You will gain a strong foundation in academic skills and you will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of courses in communications, social sciences, humanities, and math and science. With the assistance of the General Arts and Science staff and faculty, you will choose electives to create an individualized timetable.

Pathways
After completion of this program, you may choose to follow one of these pathways:

• Continue in the second year of the General Arts and Science UniversityTransfer diploma program
• Continue study in another Sault College diploma program
• Apply to an Ontario university for admission

Applicable credits earned in the General Arts and Science Certificate program will count towards completion of other Ontario college diploma programs offered at Sault College.
Once you have successfully completed two semesters of full-time studies (minimum of 36 credits) you will be awarded a General Arts and Science One Year Certificate.

Full-time students successfully completing two semesters of the General Arts and Science - One-Year Certificate option, provided they meet the specific program entrance requirements, will be guaranteed a position in the first year of the postsecondary program of their choice, with the exception of limited enrolment programs. Limited enrolment programs will guarantee 10 percent of their seats for full-time students successfully completing the General Arts and Science - One-Year Certificate program and meeting other entrance criteria.
