The Honours Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics program is the first-of-its-kind in Ontario. This four-year degree program was designed to meet the growing need for data-driven business solutions. You will learn to identify and interpret data using algorithms and acquire skills to draw meaningful conclusions. Your knowledge will be enhanced through theory and applied learning with the help of case studies, guest speakers and a co-op work experience. As a graduate of this program, you will be uniquely positioned to make an impact by combining solid business strategies with an in-depth knowledge of computer science, statistics and analytics.

Mandatory Degree Work Term
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a paid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the co-op work term(s) is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the mandatory co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

Through this intensive three-year advanced diploma program, you will gain a solid foundation, combining the three primary branches of information and communications technology: electronics, software development and IT infrastructure.

Seneca incorporates curriculum content from a number of internationally known organizations, including CompTIA and Cisco. In addition, your professors have strong ties with major tech companies, including Microsoft, Bell, Rogers, Keysight Technologies and Freescale Semiconductors, to help you gain exposure to current industry practices and build a network prior to graduation. Optional Co-op

New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

Field Placement
As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

This four-year honours bachelor degree will provide you with extensive knowledge and technical skills in software development languages. This program also covers topics in operating systems, web applications, multimedia interfaces, information security, databases, system analysis and design principles. Seneca’s one-year Fashion Studies certificate program will introduce you to fashion design and fashion business that will inspire you to explore creative skills and design applications. You will immerse yourself in design, production, business and communication, including social media. From visual culture, trend forecasting to sustainable fashion, your studies will teach you to investigate the range of experiences offered to professionals in the industry.

Furthermore, upon completing this program, you will be able to make an informed decision about continuing your studies in other fashion programs within Seneca’s School of Fashion.

To be eligible to apply for the optional co-op, students must complete all subjects from semesters 1 through 4 and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better, along with meeting the above minimum course grade requirements.

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft – Business Operations graduate certificate program will prepare you with operational and management skills for developing and sustaining businesses in a wide variety of industries. This includes agriculture, security, construction, mining, government, aerial photography, law enforcement, oil and gas, solar panels and cable power lines, etc.

This drones/drone flying program offers cross-disciplinary learning that includes leveraging business, entrepreneurial topics and flight operations including the study of law, privacy and ethics. Your experience includes flight training at AlteX Academy’s Drone Flight Field. When you graduate, you will be equipped with the ability to ethically and professionally utilize Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) to meet business goals, whether you choose to support an existing business or start a business of your own. You will also be able to ensure compliance with service guidance, company policies and procedures to support RPAS industry safety.

A capstone research project will allow you to investigate, plan and take ownership of an idea that would benefit the use of RPAS. In addition, the program will prepare you to write the exam for the Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Advanced Operations Transport Canada certificate, which is mandatory to operate any drones above 250 grams in Canada.
