An International Studies degree helps you understand global context and work toward answers for some of the world’s most demanding questions. With four different streams to choose from you are sure to find your fit in International studies.

Our courses are presented from historical and contemporary perspectives and challenge you to learn about the changing dynamics of the international society. You will learn from the expertise of specialized professors about topics such as war, foreign policy, globalization, economic disparity, and international development.

As part of the major, we encourage our students to study abroad in order to put what they learn in the classroom into practice. There are also many ways to get involved on campus, including student-led initiatives such as TWU’s Refugee Awareness Campaign or participation in Model United Nations.

International Studies majors typically find employment in international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government, law, missions, or in providing other services in the global community.

The Christianity and Culture program has a strong interdisciplinary approach that gives our students a broad understanding of the relationship of Christianity to western culture by educating students in the historic and living traditions of the Christian Church.

Our program prepares students for graduate theological studies and provides a solid foundation for students who desire to enter ministry. Through core biblical studies classes, our students explore the relationship between the historic Christian faith and contemporary values, issues, and institutions. Our students deepen their understanding of the world through electives such as Philosophy, English, or History.

Our Computing Science program prepares you to be a technological leader with a global perspective.
Our graduates are creative problem solvers, lifelong learners, and highly adaptable leaders in our rapidly changing world. In addition to studying fundamental computing science topics, our students choose from a variety of elective courses, including:

We encourage our students to engage in undergraduate research with their computing science professors. These research projects often result in students presenting their work at international conferences. Human Resource Management Specialization
Despite today's technologies, people are still the center of an organization. In the human resource management (HRM) program at TWU, you'll learn how to: motivate employees, create empowering work environments, develop and implement policies and procedures, design the structure of an organization, and plan for the workforce of the future.

With a faculty of dedicated and experienced professionals, our Philosophy program aims to challenge and improve your logical and critical-thinking skills.

You will learn about historic thinkers and influential writings that have shaped the world, while creatively engaging in solving some of the most significant problems facing contemporary culture. You will develop the skills to understand and evaluate ideas. Through our philosophy courses, you will refine your perspectives on the importance of ethics, how humans think, and the need to think consistently and clearly. As a student of mathematics, you will explore the many disciplines of pure and applied mathematics—logic, number theory, calculus, algebra, topology, analysis, modelling, and numeric methods. A degree in mathematics can lead you to many different careers options, including elementary teacher, scientific researcher, civil engineer, statistician, software developer, and economist.

The video game industry is massive and global, earning over $40 billion in the US alone last year. Market trends show it will continue to be a major employer of well-paid, highly skilled professionals.

Our unique Game Development program is unlike any other program. You will gain the technical skills you need to develop video games and knowledge about the entrepreneurial aspects of the business—all while gaining experience and developing your specialization in a range of team-based activities.

Beginning as early as your second year, you will work on three intensive projects to create and market video games. As in the industry, you will work within an entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary team environment to drive the projects from concept stage to promotion - creating business models and monitoring costs and revenues. In addition to building your portfolio through experiential learning, TWU’s liberal arts core and focus on holistic education will equip you to be a valuable contributor and leader in your field.
