The Christianity and Culture program has a strong interdisciplinary approach that gives our students a broad understanding of the relationship of Christianity to western culture by educating students in the historic and living traditions of the Christian Church.

Our program prepares students for graduate theological studies and provides a solid foundation for students who desire to enter ministry. Through core biblical studies classes, our students explore the relationship between the historic Christian faith and contemporary values, issues, and institutions. Our students deepen their understanding of the world through electives such as Philosophy, English, or History.

TWU and Belhaven University’s Dual Degree program is a rare opportunity to earn two master’s degrees at once in less time and at a lower cost than if taken individually.

The Dual Degree program gives you twice the opportunity to build on your IT and leadership skills with the unique chance to graduate with TWU’s Master of Arts in Leadership and Belhaven University’s Master of Science in Information Technology Management.

TWU (Canada) and Belhaven (USA), both accredited and respected North American faith-based universities, have created a merged program on the beautiful TWU campus in British Columbia. Complete two master’s degrees with fewer courses in as little as 20 months, and you’ll spend 30% less than if you were to take the two master’s degrees separately.

The Dual Degree program has additional benefits for international students:

• Eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada
• Significantly increased chances of successfully applying for permanent residency (PR within the PGWP timeframe after graduation)

Program Delivery
Courses will be provided by both universities with a unique hybrid delivery where students will take TWU courses in person at the Langley or Richmond university campus and Belhaven courses online. Both universities will transfer nine credits into each other’s master’s degree programs saving students time, coursework, and cost—effectively removing the need for six courses. This will allow for the TWU/Belhaven degrees to both be completed in just 20 months. The TWU learning environment will meet all necessary Canadian requirements for students’ immediate study and post-graduation work permits (PGWP).

TWU¹s School of Human Kinetics is a certified training centre by the NSCA (The National Strength and Conditioning Association) and our faculty serve noted positions with the managing council of the Canadian Sports Psychology Association as well as the Board Canadian Sport Institute.

Mathematics is the language and enabler of science and technology, providing us with the necessary tools for analyzing economic trends, forecasting weather, doing research in the social sciences and other disciplines, and making informed business decisions.

As a student of mathematics, you will explore the many disciplines of pure and applied mathematics—logic, number theory, calculus, algebra, topology, analysis, modelling, and numeric methods. A degree in mathematics can lead you to many different careers options, including elementary teacher, scientific researcher, civil engineer, statistician, software developer, and economist.

Leadership and Management Specialization
The effect of an organization's leadership team is undeniable. History has shown the decisions they make can spell either success or failure. Realizing this responsibility, our leadership and management specialization provides you with the tools to manage a business successfully. Learn how to problem-solve, resolve conflict, motivate employees, set goals, communicate effectively, and lead ethically.

Biotechnology—creating technology or products from cellular and biomolecular processes, often DNA technology—is one of the fastest growing and innovative scientific sectors.

Our students study the science behind breakthrough discoveries that revolutionized gene editing, stem cell research, green energy, and big data in personalized medicine. Our students learn in the classroom and lab, as well as in a chosen field alongside biotechnology experts. Our students gain the knowledge, expertise, ethical framework, and contacts necessary to achieve a successful career in the life sciences. Our Biotechnology degree not only fast-tracks you for careers in life science, it also meets standard entry requirements for medical school and other professional schools.

On-campus, students have access to our new biology and analytical chemistry research laboratories, our confocal microscopy suite, and our on-campus Ecosystem Study Area to put classroom techniques to practice. Our students gain marketable skills and networks through co-op placements and practicums.

A geography degree offers students the opportunity to tackle complex human and environmental problems with a skill set that emphasizes a combination of knowledge-building, critical thinking, informed problem solving, interdisciplinary learning, geospatial technologies and analysis, and hands-on solutions to positively impact people’s quality of life and their environments.

Geographers work in a wide array of fields including community development and missions, urban and regional planning, population and statistical analysis, geographic information systems, computerized mapping and remote sensing, business, retail analysis and market research, environmental assessment and resource conservation, geophysical analysis, and natural science research. Graduates with geography degrees are in high demand. Significant employment opportunities exist within government, teaching, business, private sector consulting, and in non-governmental/non-profit organization. The reasons for this wide range of opportunities and the demand for trained geographers in the workplace are the unique spatial perspective, interdisciplinary skills, holistic approach, geospatial technologies, statistical analysis and other skills the geography graduate offers.

Examining the deeper motivations of human behaviour and understanding how you can impact people’s lives is part of the dynamic field of psychology.

Through systematic observation and research in our Psychology program, you will gain an understanding of human experience. As a student, you will explore all aspects of human behaviour and the thoughts, feelings, and motivations that underlie that behaviour, helping you to better understand people and how you can positively influence them.

Using a Christian worldview as the basis of interpretation, faculty members encourage you to investigate principles derived from research that apply to areas such as work, love, leisure, family, sexuality, value and meaning, spirituality, and relationships. Through a variety of teaching styles, off-campus trips, unique guests, travel studies, and retreat courses, your professors equip you to explore your faith and question your world.

In Political Studies, we consider the many ways in which we use power in human societies.

We examine the philosophic and practical aspects of the use and abuse of power, combining insights from both the humanities and social sciences. Our Political Studies program embraces both the social science and humanities aspects of political analysis, adding depth to your studies. As a student of political studies, you will deepen your understanding of political science and explore your rights and responsibilities as a citizen and Christian.

You will explore the organization of government and how this influences the amount and distribution of social and economic resources. In addition, you will develop an understanding of government institutions, legislative processes, foreign policy, international relations, and public law.

Our political studies program includes practicum courses, giving our students valuable experience. Our students have the option of studying at TWU’s Laurentian Leadership Centre and interning in Ottawa or at Parliament Hill, and participating in our Pre-Law Society or Model United Nations.
