• A respiratory therapy degree can also open doors around the world. Health care providers in developing countries actively recruit Canadian graduates to help develop health care facilities and programs abroad.
• Following completion of the BHS (Respiratory Therapy) students may pursue further training in the specialized treatment areas of perfusion technology, sleep medicine, neonatal or pediatric care and anaesthesia assistant.

Bio-Psychology examines the human body and human behaviour. This interdisciplinary program is designed for students interested in pursing careers or post-graduate studies in neuroscience, human biology, medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.

What you'll learn
In your first year you will take introductory courses in a cross section of science disciplines. These survey courses serve as the foundation for upper level study.
A major in Biology-Psychology will include studies in specialized topics such as perception, animal learning, cognition, social and developmental psychology, microbiology, genetics, physiology and more.

Mathematics puts our world in order. Arts students may major or minor in Mathematics, studying calculus, geometry, algebra, statistics and mathematical theory. Mathematics provides the framework for scientific theory in applied, natural and social sciences and the principles underlying economics and business studies.

Criminal Justice Studies at UNB is about crime, criminal behaviour, and the criminal justice system. It’s about social control, crime prevention, victimization, and criminal sanctions. And it’s about examining all of these things from multiple perspectives – psychological, sociological, historical, philosophical, and business.

Psychology is the science of human thought, behaviour and emotion. All that we think, feel and do is a possible topic for psychological study. Psychology applies its knowledge to human activity in order to improve lives and alleviate suffering.

At UNB, we offer a broad spectrum of research areas in psychology, including: human sexuality, depression, feminist perspectives, Autism, women’s studies, internet and gambling addictions, gender and laterality, pain assessment and management, infant and adolescent development, cultural psychology, self-concept and identity, bilingualism and cognitive neuroscience.

Geological engineers merge earth sciences with engineering principles to determine what lies underground. Working primarily in the mining and mineral extraction sectors, geological engineers oversee the stability and safety of mines and of drilling sites, particularly of oil and natural gas wells.

This includes:

• Stabilizing the site against landslides and other ecological disasters
• Protecting groundwater supplies from contamination
• Ensuring all work is conducted in an environmentally sustainable way

In UNB’s Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism (BAMHT) program, you’ll combine practical experience in a community college setting with theoretical studies in UNB classrooms. You’ll study in Canada’s oldest incorporated city and gain valuable hands-on training and experience.

The BAMHT is available as a certificate and a degree, if entering from high school, or as a diploma and a degree, if entering from college. For the co-op mode, work terms follow Years Two and Three for high school-entry students while a work term follows Year Three (i.e. first year at UNBSJ) for college-entry students. These work terms provide hands-on, multi-level practical experiences.

Philosophy helps students explore a wide range of questions from a variety of different positions. Ask the big questions, and accept there are no easy answers. Philosophy ponders questions about meaning, truth, ethics, art, citizenship, and freedom that define who we are as individuals and leads us to a clearer sense of our role in society. 

Philosophy is available as a major, double major, or minor within the Bachelor of Arts. Students can explore the major philosophies of the past and engage with the issues and major questions of today.

 UNB Saint John's Bachelor of Applied Management in Accounting (BAMAC) program complements the practical and technical accounting experience gained through a college education with university-level studies in accounting.

The BAMAC will qualify students for greater career opportunities or to pursue a professional accounting designation, such as the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). As an added bonus, many of the courses required in the BAMAC are the same as the required courses for the CPA professional program.

General Information:-

The Certificate in General Studies is open to all interested individuals, but it is intended for student attending university for the first time. It is anticipated that Certificate students may proceed on to a degree program, transferring all appropriate Certificate credit(s).
