The MA program in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies is designed for students interested in literature, language, translation, linguistics, terminology, applied linguistics, gender and cultural studies, and the history of ideas. The program covers French, Quebec, French-Canadian and postcolonial French literatures. For French-Canadian studies, collaboration with the Institut français, the Department of History, Women's Studies and the Canadian Plains Research Center (CPRC) and other units makes possible linguistic and cultural studies of French communities in Western Canada.

The professional Master's option in Journalism is a 30 credit program to be completed over three semesters. It is not an academic track degree; rather it is designed to develop students' capacity for advanced journalistic investigation. Candidates will take a suite of core courses in the theory, history and methods of journalism as well as two advanced specialization options (in print, magazine, broadcast, documentary, international media, alternative media or photojournalism). An outside elective will draw on the resources of other departments and programs and will be related to students' professional capstone projects. In lieu of a thesis, their professional Master’s project will be completed under the supervision of an assigned faculty member. Long-form journalism proposals may include a film or radio documentary; a creative non-fiction or investigative series for magazine, newspaper or online publication; a publisher-ready book proposal and first chapter; a photo-journalism exhibit; or a community-based media project. Students will follow a rigorous and methodical process of research planning and investigation to produce journalism of publication / broadcast quality. Proposals must meaningfully advance the public interest.  Students will also participate in a Master's workshop, as they move from the conceptualization and investigation phases to the project production phase. The Master of Education in Adult Education and Human Resource Development degree program (MEd AHRD) is intended to prepare individuals for specialized educational roles in organizations involved in training & development, and/or adult training institutions.  Students will be able to select courses in both or either the Adult Education or the Human Resource Development streams, within one combined program.

Students can complete the pre-dentistry requirements for the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the College of Dentistry after two academic years each consisting of two standard academic terms of eight consecutive months (September to April). Specific courses are required. All applicants must take the Dental Aptitude Test administered by the Canadian Dental Association. Pre-dentistry courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.

The Bachelor of Health Studies is jointly administered between the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies and the Faculty of Arts in partnership with First Nations University of Canada.

In the health studies bachelor’s degree program, you will gain a broad understanding of how determinants of health shape the wellbeing of people, families and communities. This includes experiences of illnesses and diseases, but also what people need to live healthy lives.

Statistics is a data-driven science about how numbers help us understand the world, predict future events, and analyze information.

In this program, you will take courses in statistics and probability, as well as theoretical and applied courses. Statisticians at the bachelor of science level are needed in industry, government, and academics (colleges, technical schools). The Bachelor of Science in Statistics is also a pathway to graduate studies, which can lead to a variety of skilled careers such as a statistician or data scientist.

Imagine yourself writing award-winning web content, advising governments on policy and strategy, or managing a mission-driven team in education, health care, or the arts sector. Maybe you like to coordinate folk festivals, research local culture, teach others about literature or writing, or unearth lost manuscripts. These are some examples of where the study of English can lead.

Through this program you will learn about authors from around the globe as well as diverse genres, literary periods, and cultures of reading and writing. You will also develop critical thinking and writing skills that will enhance your learning style and strengthen your communications skills.

The Teaching, Learning, Leadership (TLL) is a course-only Master's degree program that was designed by teachers for teachers. Nine out of the ten courses are designed to be taken in any order for maximum flexibility. All of the classes are offered online. Most are also offered face-to-face so students can opt to take all of their program online, or a combination of online and face-to-face. There is one foundational course in Curriculum and Instruction (EC&I 804) and Educational Leadership (EDL 819) to provide a broad overview of these two areas. There are 6 elective courses, enabling students choice.  Students can select elective courses to create a "specialty", for example, opting for leadership (EDL)  electives provides an in-depth experience in one particular area OR students can take a range of courses to suit their individual professional goals. Given the importance and relevancy of anti-oppressive and Indigenous education, the program template offers a suite of anti-oppressive and indigenous education classes, ensuring every student has a learning experience in this area. The final course is a capstone seminar class that will be a culminating experience to bring both a reflective and forward looking perspective to round out the coursework and look beyond this degree.

Environmental and ecological issues, wildlife and fish biology, plant and animal physiology, microbiology, the workings of the human body and disease, and plant health are just some of the areas you can explore in our Biology programs.

The U of R’s biology programs provides hands-on, experiential learning with specialized laboratories as well access to state-of-the-art equipment and technologies in faculty and staff research labs.

The Biology department has one Tier-1 Canada Research Chair, several NSERC panel members, and editors and associate editors of key Canadian and international scientific journals. Several of our biology professors are recognized leaders in undergraduate education.

In addition to the general biology program, you can also choose from two optional areas to focus your studies:

Programs in chemistry at the University of Regina encompass the study of analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, environmental chemistry, and organic chemistry. A closely related program in Biochemistry allows students to explore other avenues of chemistry.

Studying Chemistry at the University of Regina
Chemistry is one of only six subjects that has been taught since the University of Regina began as Regina College in 1911. Full chemistry degree programs may have begun in 1974, when Regina Campus became the University of Regina.

We offer high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate programs have strong hands-on components as many courses include laboratories developed and overseen by four full-time laboratory instructors. Junior and senior students also benefit from small classes (5 - 25 students). 

Research
Our programs offer experiential learning in the classroom, lab, and field settings.
