What is Environmental Systems Engineering?
Our Environmental Systems Engineering (EVSE) program is very popular with students and respected by industry, largely because of its timely combination of environmental concerns and the systems approach to addressing civil and industrial environmental issues. Areas of study include environmental system design and impact and risk assessment.

Our Program
The Environmental Systems Engineering (EVSE) program demonstrates and applies systems engineering principles to environmental issues associated with water resources, air pollution, transportation, industrial development, and waste management.

Occupational therapy (OT) is the use of assessment and intervention to develop, recover, or maintain the meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or communities. It is an allied health profession performed by occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants (OTA). OTs often work with people with mental health problems, disabilities, injuries, or impairments.

Typically, occupational therapists are university-educated professionals and must pass a licensing exam to practice.Occupational therapists often work closely with professionals in physical therapy, speech therapy, audiology, nursing, social work, clinical psychology, medicine, and assistive technology.

Software Systems Engineering’s objective is to train students to study, analyze, design and develop different software systems including web-based software systems, transaction-based systems, interactive multimedia systems, and management information systems, and to become knowledgeable in the process and life-cycle aspects of software development. The program also aims to teach students to apply computational theories to real-life programming techniques; analyze requirements; design, implement and test software systems; plan and manage software projects; solve technical problems; practice co-design and embedded systems construction.

Process Systems Engineering (PSEng) is a broad category of engineering that deals with the process design for the purpose of converting raw goods to usable end products, including energy. Process engineering looks at the entire process from Point A, which is a raw material, to Point Z, which is the desired end product. It does not necessarily deal with acquiring the raw base material, although knowledge of its acquisition is part of the U of R’s systems approach to teaching and research.

The professional Master's option in Journalism is a 30 credit program to be completed over three semesters. It is not an academic track degree; rather it is designed to develop students' capacity for advanced journalistic investigation. Candidates will take a suite of core courses in the theory, history and methods of journalism as well as two advanced specialization options (in print, magazine, broadcast, documentary, international media, alternative media or photojournalism). An outside elective will draw on the resources of other departments and programs and will be related to students' professional capstone projects. In lieu of a thesis, their professional Master’s project will be completed under the supervision of an assigned faculty member. Long-form journalism proposals may include a film or radio documentary; a creative non-fiction or investigative series for magazine, newspaper or online publication; a publisher-ready book proposal and first chapter; a photo-journalism exhibit; or a community-based media project. Students will follow a rigorous and methodical process of research planning and investigation to produce journalism of publication / broadcast quality. Proposals must meaningfully advance the public interest.  Students will also participate in a Master's workshop, as they move from the conceptualization and investigation phases to the project production phase. At the University of Regina, students can complete the pre-pharmacy requirements for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Saskatchewan after the completion of 30 credit hours of specified courses. Pre-pharmacy courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.

Students can complete the qualifying university requirements for the Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Students are required to complete a minimum of three years (90 credit hours) of undergraduate university study in any discipline prior to admission to the Chiropractic program. Although there are no specific required courses, CMCC does recommend courses in specific subject areas. The Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the CMCC is a four year program following admission. The CMCC welcomes applications from Canadian and international students. The courses completed at the University of Regina as part of this program can be used toward variety of degree programs at the University of Regina.

This program gives you the tools to plan, set up and conduct chemical analysis and experiments and develop chemical products. It is designed for students who have an interest in combining chemistry, plant production, and technology. You will build upon logical and innovative thinking skills and write technical reports.

The Master of Public Administration (M.P.Adm., M.P.A., or MPA) is a professional post-graduate degree in public administration, similar to the Master of Business Administration but with an emphasis on the issues of governance. The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, accredited by the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA), is designed to prepare students for careers in public administration and policy work in diverse areas such as non-government organizations, industry associations, and, of course, the public service.

In the PPE program, you will be able to draw upon the three disciplines – philosophy, politics and economics – to examine today’s challenges using this interdisciplinary lens. Not only will you learn to identify these challenges, you will develop the knowledge and skills that could help solve them.
