The four-year Bachelor of Music degree program provides excellent preparation in the fields of performance (vocal or instrumental), composition, or comprehensive music. Private studio lessons help students develop their technique and artistry. Individual study is complemented by courses in the history, analysis and theory of music that cover historical and contemporary music. What Is Therapeutic Recreation?
Therapeutic recreation uses a person-centered approach, focusing on strengths, and applies recreation and leisure theory to improve quality of life and well-being. 

The classes in the U of R’s Bachelor of Sport & Recreation Studies Therapeutic Recreation degree program include:

• Therapeutic Recreation Foundations, which is an introduction to therapeutic recreation, and covers its theoretical foundations and how it developed as a profession
• Therapeutic Recreation Interventions, which examines the intervention process and the forms of interventions and strategies used to bring about changes in physical, social, emotional, and cognitive functioning for persons with disabilities, limitations or age-related conditions
• Therapeutic Recreation: Mental Health and Addictions, which explores mental health and addictions through a therapeutic recreation lens. Students will learn about the range of mental health and addictions-related conditions and the impact of therapeutic recreation treatment on rehabilitation and recovery.

The Department is engaged in a broad range of research in pure and applied mathematics and statistics, and offers programs leading to the MSc, and PhD degrees in mathematics or statistics. The MSc degrees normally requires two years of study, and students may chose either a course-based option or a thesis option for the research component of the degree.

The PhD program is an advanced, research-oriented course of study for which an original contribution to knowledge in the form of a dissertation is to be written and defended. The PhD program involves course work, comprehensive examinations, seminars, original research, and the defence of the dissertation.

Mathematics is one of the oldest sciences. Although there are many applications of mathematics, the subject seeks to resolve questions whose answers will deepen our understanding of, and reveal new insights into, mathematics itself. The inherent structure and elegance of mathematics are features of the subject that are difficult to surpass in other sciences.

Mathematics also differs from other disciplines in that its advances come through the application of pure reason (by way of the human mind) rather than through observation (by way of scientific instrumentation). Consequently, mathematics builds upon its past achievements and develops independently of technological advancements.

Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
Graduates of this program will be proficient in the uses of mathematics, especially calculus, matrix algebra, differential equations, probability, and statistics. You will also be exposed to computer science and higher level mathematical reasoning in the form of mathematical proofs.

The University of Regina Department of English is a medium-sized department offering courses and research opportunities in most areas of English, American, and Canadian literatures. The size of its student body ensures that students have ample opportunity for intellectual discussion with their peers, but also the close contact with faculty members that larger institutions are unable to provide. The Department currently offers three routes for the MA in English: course-based, Creative Writing, and thesis-based. The course MA (ten courses) provides an opportunity to achieve a breadth of knowledge in many areas of English literature. The thesis MA (five courses plus thesis) provides an opportunity to do in-depth research, and an extended piece of writing, on one area of English literature. The Master's degree is normally the highest offered in the Department of English at the University of Regina, and affords the Department the opportunity for close support of Master’s students and high-priority supervision of Master's theses Both the thesis and course MA offer students excellent preparation for graduate studies at the doctoral level, or for jobs and careers in English. The Department of English is offering an MA in Creative Writing: this degree consists of five courses (in Creative Writing and English Literature/Theory), and a creative thesis with a critical/theoretical introduction.

The Master of Education in Adult Education and Human Resource Development degree program (MEd AHRD) is intended to prepare individuals for specialized educational roles in organizations involved in training & development, and/or adult training institutions.  Students will be able to select courses in both or either the Adult Education or the Human Resource Development streams, within one combined program.

In the Bachelor of Kinesiology in Health Promotion program, you will gain a foundation in movement science and a background in the determinants of health, equity, diversity and inclusion, wellness, evaluation, and program delivery. You’ll learn how programs and policies, like housing, access to healthy food, and mental health supports, can affect health. In addition, you will learn how to assess, develop and implement programs that are designed to achieve specific health results.
