The Department of Anthropology offers a number of research possibilities within socio-cultural anthropology and the anthropology of language. The research interests of our faculty literally cover the globe in our attempts to understand cultural variation and change. Particular interests include symbolic and interpretive theory, personhood and morality, religion and ritual, material culture and art, nationalism, and ethnographies of Latin America, the Himalayas, Polynesia, and post-socialist Europe

Bachelor of Business Administration
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree is a four-year program designed to prepare you for a successful and progressive career in business as a responsible leader who creates positive social change. Gain general business knowledge in your first two years and by the end of year two, select one of five majors for specialization including:

• Accounting
• Finance
• General Business Studies
• Human Resource Management
• Marketing

You can take courses like:

• Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which exposes students to sources of, and barriers to innovation.
• Introduction to Taxation for Business Decisions, which explores aspects of taxation from the perspective of a business manager.
• Financial Modelling, which covers the implementation of financial theories using actual data and software. Digital Marketing, where you’ll learn about leading trends in digital media and the evolving impact on marketing decisions.
• Managing a Diverse Workforce, where you’ll learn about how to manage employees in a global environment.
• Staffing Organizations, which takes the perspective of human resource professionals to examine recruitment, selection, and placement in the workplace.

The Religious Studies program offers students the opportunity to examine critically the realm of religion in its varied manifestations. It includes several religious traditions, thematic, and methodological studies. Religious Studies offers an M.A. program consisting of a minimum of 15 credit hours of courses at the 800 level and 15 credit hours of thesis research. Students are encouraged to focus their thesis work on comparative topics in religion.

The Faculty of Kinesiology offers programs rich in experiential learning that focus on health, community-based programming, exercise rehabilitation, and the business-side of sports and recreation. History student study the many different nations, peoples and cultures of the past from political, economic, social, cultural, and gender perspectives. A history degree will help you understand how civilizations have evolved and developed, and why we have the societies we do today.

Students can complete the pre-optometry requirements for the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo through the Faculty of Science at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Waterloo after three years of specified pre-optometry courses. Pre-optometry courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a BSc at the University of Regina.

Start small and walk before you run with the Diploma of Business Administration (DipBA). The DipBA is a two-year program that provides an overview of all areas of business administration, and courses completed in the DipBA can be used towards the course requirements for the four-year BBA if you decide to transition into a degree.

The Master of Public Administration (M.P.Adm., M.P.A., or MPA) is a professional post-graduate degree in public administration, similar to the Master of Business Administration but with an emphasis on the issues of governance. The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, accredited by the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA), is designed to prepare students for careers in public administration and policy work in diverse areas such as non-government organizations, industry associations, and, of course, the public service. 

The Master of Indigenous Language Education degree aims to:

• Prepare students as leaders in Indigenous language acquisition and revitalization;
• Provide students with the required skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to become effective Indigenous language educators;
• Prepare students to conduct research with Indigenous peoples;
• Provide students with opportunities to learn, understand, and experience Indigenous knowledges, worldviews and perspectives; and
• Equip students with the competencies and abilities to integrate Indigenous languages and knowledge into school curricula.

Teachers, Indigenous language activists, and language and social policy makers currently working in elementary, secondary and post-secondary institutions (both off and on-reserve) as well as government, public and private sectors are the target groups for this program.
