This professional integrated degree of arts with the profound knowledge of the law gives a double boost to the career of students aspiring to join the legal fraternity. The subjects covered under arts include Sociology, History, Political Science in correlation with legal subjects of Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and Labour Laws under the proficient guidance of highly qualified faculty members.

The specialisation educates students in regulating and resolving disputes relating to both individual labour laws i.e. the employees’ rights at work and the employment standards as well as the tripartite labour laws i.e. the relationship between the employer, employee, and the union. UPES provides students with an opportunity to complete two seminar papers and a dissertation exclusively in labour laws under the mentorship of the faculty and an industry-based professional.

Food and environmental microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics talk about how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases then talks about how infectious diseases are contracted through food and what shall be done to prevent it. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus designed is such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at School of Health Sciences UPES in tie up with School of computer science, School of business, School of Engineering and Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.  

B.Sc. Clinical Research, a three-year full-time undergraduate program, will help in building up a strong foundation towards various clinical and pre-clinical research aspects. The curriculum will include, Pharmacovigilance, Scientific Writing, SAS, Ethics in Clinical Research, design thinking and application of artificial intelligence in Clinical Research thus imparting skills required in this industry.

Students pursuing Business Analytics and Optimization learn the essential computer science concepts such as Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java, databases and software engineering and design processes, but also learns Advance Statistical Analysis, Data Mining and Predictive Modeling, Business Intelligence, Business Strategy and Analytics, Operations Research and Optimization, Social and Web Analytics, BAO on cloud, Big Data Analytics, Content Analytics.

Business analytics makes extensive use of statistical analysis, including explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.

This is a 5-year full-time course, which explores the role of international economic law in the contemporary global economy. It provides an overview of the legal foundations of the global economy and the regulatory frameworks governing international trade and investment relations.

The emphasis of the course is upon how international trade economics interacts with domestic investment law and cross-border investment law keeping in view MNC’s as well as other state and non-state actors.

Students in this specialisation learn the essential computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java, databases and software engineering and design processes, but also concepts such as Big Data related concepts such as functional programming using python, distributed computing, data ingestion tools, NoSQL database, and other technologies to build big data pipeline.

Computational Mathematics involves mathematical research in areas of science and engineering where computing plays an essential role. Some topics of study include developing accurate and efficient numerical methods for solving physical or biological models, analysis of numerical approximations to differential and integral equations, developing computational tools to better understand data and structure, etc. 

PhD Energy Management is the highest academic degree awarded in the study of Energy Management.

Develops highly skilled disaster management experts.  Helps to apply suitable disaster management policies and techniques in line with local conditions and assist in reducing the losses that impact developing countries in particular.

The students in this specialisation are exposed to essential computer science concepts such as algorithms, data structures, OOPS concepts with java and advanced Java, with databases and software engineering design processes. Emphasis is given to practical implementation of different aspects of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence with application in hydrocarbon sector.
