UPES provides unique and focused Integrated M.Sc-PhD course aiming to deliver expertise in theoretical and experimental understanding of Physics and its allied disciplines. The program is designed such that after completing it, students would be able to excel in academia, industries, and research. The faculty members in the department have diverse research expertise including but not limited to materials science, nanotechnology, renewable energy, computational materials science, high energy physics, nuclear physics, plasmonics, spintronics, etc., which would provide students flexibility in opting for their PhD topic. The curriculum is designed to give exposure not only about the subject but also research ethics, communication and skill augmentation. The completion of the course ensures deep knowledge with wide exposure, intellectual development, and ethical awareness that make students ready for various professional research, industrial and academic opportunities.

B. Pharmacy is a four-year undergraduate professional program spread across eight semesters which deals with the study of medicines. The core subjects of the program include pharmaceutical chemistry (chemistry of medicinal compounds), pharmaceutics (manufacturing of dosage forms such as tablets, capsules etc.), pharmacology (action of drugs on the body and action of body on the drugs) and pharmacognosy (medicinal drugs obtained from plants and other natural sources). In addition to the core subjects defined by PCI, electives such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Design Thinking and Data Analytics are offered to the students.

The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This is a 5-year full-time course, which explores the role of international economic law in the contemporary global economy. It provides an overview of the legal foundations of the global economy and the regulatory frameworks governing international trade and investment relations.

The emphasis of the course is upon how international trade economics interacts with domestic investment law and cross-border investment law keeping in view MNC’s as well as other state and non-state actors.

The specialisation acquaints the students on subjects such as Manufacturing Operations for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Lean Manufacturing et al. The program equips them to understand how an organization achieves high levels of efficiency in converting material and labour into goods and services and create linkages on their distribution.

The specialization acquaints the students on subjects like Rural Marketing, Social and Digital Media Marketing. The course equips the students on traditional as well as modern approaches to the world of marketing, which will support them in solving real-life marketing-related problems.

Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Process Design and Intensification is a specialization in Chemical Engineering to be launched in 2021, which deals with process designing as well as its intensification. Process design is the backbone of any chemical process industry, be it paints and polymers or pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals. The designing of equipment, their placement in a process, designing and developing the flowsheets and finally improving the design to reduce operation cost and improve efficiency (intensification) becomes the base of any chemical process. The students will get a hands-on training and expertise in courses like Process Design, Process flow-sheeting, Process intensification, Chemical Engineering safety along with all basic chemical engineering courses. They will also be trained in software like ASPEN, MATLAB, PROSIM etc. which will allow the students to be industry ready.

Applied Mathematics focuses on the innovative creation and imaginative use of mathematical concepts to present and solve problems over the various field of natural sciences, engineering sciences, medical sciences and emerging fields such as data sciences and artificial intelligence. The program is designed to provide students an increased knowledge and comprehensive understanding of mathematics, particularly in algorithms, fluid mechanics, differential equations, probability and stochastics, and optimisation. 

The full term of two years and the syllabus for the program is divided into four semesters. This Master’s program is also an ideal preparation for various PhD programs in basic sciences and engineering.  

The course is dynamic in nature and gives students the time and space to explore different aspects of the digital media landscape. The thematic focus for study majorly revolves around Mass Media and its roots in social communication; Digital Marketing; Social Media; Digital Media Communication; PR and Advertising and Digital Media and Contemporary Relevance. Enrolled students will get equipped in skills related to advertising, public relations, digital storytelling, podcasting, etc.

B. Tech. Chemical Engineering Spl in Refining and Petrochemicals is a specialization running since 2010 and has been accredited by NBA in 2019. This program enables students to have in-depth knowledge regarding the oil, gas, chemical, and the petrochemical sector, with major future prospects in industries like Exxon Mobil, Halliburton, Shell, Reliance, Phillips Carbon Black Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Lab, etc. The program deals with courses like Petroleum refining technology, Petrochemical process technology, Catalyst design and catalysis, Chemical Industry 4.0 etc. which prepares the student to be ready for any oil and gas industry. We have our student alumni with this degree doing extremely well in both PSUs like Indian Oil Corporation Limited and also private sector like Exxon Mobil, Halliburton, Shell, Reliance etc.
