UPES provides a unique and focused Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc program with specialization in analytical chemistry. The specialization equips students with extensive knowledge allowing them to opt for various careers in academics, industries and research fields. Students who are enrolled in integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. with specialization in Analytical Chemistry program, can enhance their skills related to evaluation, measurement, and interpretation of scientific data. The plethora of research area among the faculty members provides an understanding of different future oriented aspects of chemistry.  The Laboratory courses are designed to offer comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience on sophisticated techniques. The last semester of the program is dedicated to dissertation work making students aware about the application of concepts on real-life challenges. The program is designed such that after completing it, students would be able to excel in academia, industries, and research. The faculty members in the department have diverse research expertise including but not limited to Reliability analysis and optimization, numerical analysis, fluid dynamics, differential geometry, image processing and data analysis, dynamical system and mathematical modelling, etc., which would provide students flexibility in opting for their PhD topic. The program focuses on different aspects related to airline operations viz. ticketing, passenger profiling, passenger handling, baggage handling, boarding process, peak hour passenger management etc. This course enables students to handle airline operations at the airport terminal efficiently and smoothly. Students also get to learn about the role and structure of airline management personnel and the process of taking strategic and day-to-day routine decisions.

Structural Engineering is an innovative program, focused on the combination of recent advances made in the field of structural engineering.  This program allows structural engineer the flexibility and freedom for a better understanding of structural behavior with material and geometric non-linearity and loading uncertainties  It also engages in a comprehensive study of modern structural engineering subjects such as Analysis of Offshore Structures, Bridge Design, Construction Technology, etc.

The specialization provides hands-on experience in subjects such as retail analytics, retail supply chain, retail business, retail marketing and e-payment system for e-commerce. The curriculum includes required skills in digital marketing and search engine optimization.

Propulsion and Engine systems plays a vital role in development of various automobile, transport vehicles, aircrafts, rocket engines, ships and navel transport vehicle. The major source of energy to these systems is through the combustion and hence the design of combustion chamber plays a vital role. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) explores the design, monitoring and analysis of propulsion and engine systems. The core part of the course consists of modules, which are considered to build the necessary foundation of the combustion modelling. The advancements in the combustion technology, challenges in designing advance combustion chambers like burners, IC engine Combustion systems, jet engine combustion systems, fuel injectors, supersonic combustors in Scramjets and Rocket engine combustions. The Modelling of these systems are associated with various challenges like flame stabilization studies, turbulence combustion, Spray Systems, multiphase combustion, Microgravity combustion, flames and reactive flows, This module covers Recent Trends in Modelling of Combustion and its available numerical models and computational tools along with the expectation for further developing CFD techniques in the field.

Students pursuing Business Analytics and Optimization learn the essential computer science concepts such as Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java, databases and software engineering and design processes, but also learns Advance Statistical Analysis, Data Mining and Predictive Modeling, Business Intelligence, Business Strategy and Analytics, Operations Research and Optimization, Social and Web Analytics, BAO on cloud, Big Data Analytics, Content Analytics.

Business analytics makes extensive use of statistical analysis, including explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.

Computational material science involves exploration of material structure, properties and behaviour using modelling, simulation, theory or statistics. It is a wide field that encompasses computational techniques that can simulate electronic structure of materials, explore materials at different length scales: nano, micro, meso and macro scales, predict the structure based on thermodynamic stability and accelerate discovery of novel materials with desired properties. A student opting for this specialisation will get exposed to these techniques and will gain an in-depth expertise on any one technique through the dedicated project work.

5 G Communication and Technology involves core ECE subjects plus innovative courses covering innovative technologies such as Massive MIMO, LTE-Advanced, mmWave, Massive-IoT, 5G-NR, NB-IoT, SDN, Cloud-RAN, Edge Computing, NFV, HetNets, Network Slicing and much more. State-of-the-art laboratories, project-based learning environment and regular industrial visits (every semester) are conducted to amplify practical exposure and hand-on experience of the students.
