UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Animation and VFX prepares students with a strong grounding in design, video and audio skills, alongside modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, digital cinematography, digital color grading, and 3D digital graphics. The course modules also cover motion graphics and virtual studio skills, alongside compositing, 3D tracking, particles, and dynamics.

Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Process Design and Intensification is a specialization in Chemical Engineering to be launched in 2021, which deals with process designing as well as its intensification. Process design is the backbone of any chemical process industry, be it paints and polymers or pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals. The designing of equipment, their placement in a process, designing and developing the flowsheets and finally improving the design to reduce operation cost and improve efficiency (intensification) becomes the base of any chemical process. The students will get a hands-on training and expertise in courses like Process Design, Process flow-sheeting, Process intensification, Chemical Engineering safety along with all basic chemical engineering courses. They will also be trained in software like ASPEN, MATLAB, PROSIM etc. which will allow the students to be industry ready.

UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Transportation & Mobility Design gives students access to a High-Performance Visualization Lab for real-time 3D visualization of products, Rapid Product Development Lab equipped with Rapid Prototyping, Laser scanner and Laser cutting machines. Students will have proficiency in creating mobility solutions with distinct functions and social impact.

Smart materials are materials that can respond to external stimuli such as stress, moisture, electric/magnetic field, temperature and pH. They are at the core of sensors used in smart electronics and comprise a huge variety of materials including piezoelectric, shape-memory, photovoltaic, thermoelectric, ferrofluids and self-healing materials. A student opting for this specialisation will be exposed to the properties, synthesis and application of these materials, and will be able to explore one of these material systems in-depth through the dedicated project work.

In the upstream oil and gas industry, digital transformation is changing how business is performed. Digital transformation of E&P proprietary data could save the industry as much as $1 billion each year while boosting production up to 8 percent. E&P data stored in warehouses on various old media technologies cannot be accessed on today’s platforms, and that signifying missed opportunities. Oil and gas organizations possess a wealth of subsurface information. Optimal use of E&P data differentiates production plateaus from fresh income-generating insights using historical data. Companies can forego around nearly 8 billion dollars a year in non-productive time as their geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and data managers spend up to 70 percent of  time filtering mountains of well (onshore and offshore) cores, logscans, and subsurface seismic data in many current and defunct software applications and databases.
Storage, management and organization of giant volumes of hard-copy proprietary records and media archives, and locating and accessing the specific data required for analysis, interpretation and processing, is unwieldy and challenging. This inefficiency renders only 1% of the existing data of any value.

Digitizing and transforming these valuable data into safe cloud-based data, puts priceless E&P information at the geoscientist’s and data manager’s disposal. It is stored privately and securely in the cloud. Digitized geoscience data, when combined with data analytics can be instantly read, interpreted, indexed, manipulated, verified and accessed with smart-tools incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning. Therefore, legacy data can be mined to discover useful patterns for prompt and wise decisions.

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BBA + LLB) is a five-year integrated dual degree course which provides an integrated study of management studies and legislative law in an entirely independent manner.

This five-year undergraduate program is customized to give students comprehensive exposure to law, commerce, and tax. Propulsion and Engine systems plays a vital role in development of various automobile, transport vehicles, aircrafts, rocket engines, ships and navel transport vehicle. The major source of energy to these systems is through the combustion and hence the design of combustion chamber plays a vital role. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) explores the design, monitoring and analysis of propulsion and engine systems. The core part of the course consists of modules, which are considered to build the necessary foundation of the combustion modelling. The advancements in the combustion technology, challenges in designing advance combustion chambers like burners, IC engine Combustion systems, jet engine combustion systems, fuel injectors, supersonic combustors in Scramjets and Rocket engine combustions. The Modelling of these systems are associated with various challenges like flame stabilization studies, turbulence combustion, Spray Systems, multiphase combustion, Microgravity combustion, flames and reactive flows, This module covers Recent Trends in Modelling of Combustion and its available numerical models and computational tools along with the expectation for further developing CFD techniques in the field.

The specialization in marketing prepares the students on subjects like Financial Institutions and Markets, Behavioural Finance, etc. The program instils the skills, knowledge and aptitude required to develop a holistic understanding of the specialized area, so that the student becomes industry ready.

UPES School of Design’s Postgraduate Programme in Interaction Design trains students to research, analyze, prototype, and design concepts in business, social, and cultural contexts within existing and emerging technologies. Students will gain proficiency in creating engaging user interfaces, ranging from 2D screen (UI for web and mobile) to 3D (AR/VR and will be able to conceptualize user experiences around new and emerging technology, and design to make interfaces more usable, useful and pleasant.
