Plant Biotechnology assist developing new varieties of crop like genetically engineered crop, marker assisted selection, genetics and genomics, etc. This field of study helps in identifying and mapping genes, discovering their functions and transferring desired gene to specific plants as per requirement. This branch of study also focuses on all aspects of genetic engineering process to enhance efficiency, expression and precision of added gene.

This programs’ problem-based learning mechanism, emphasizes on genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. This course has been designed to examine the interactions between food production and consumption, health, and environment through environmental and food justice lenses. Building on concepts developed in food systems, it explores topics such as public health disparities and their structural causes, environmental toxins in the food system and their impact on workers and consumers, as well as policies that have or could affect these outcomes, in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Apart from conceptual discussion and debates, the program also includes field trips and/or guest lectures to give practical experience to the learners.
