B.Sc. Geology Hons. program provides specialization in Groundwater exploration and management.

Groundwater exploration involves investigation of underground rocks to understand the hydrologic cycle, the groundwater quality, and identify the nature, number and type of aquifers. Most of the liquid freshwater resources are stored underground as groundwater (99%). Its regional distribution varies and depends mainly on climatic conditions as well as the geology of the subsurface. In contrast to petroleum and minerals, a great amount of the groundwater is recharged in the hydrologic cycle by infiltrating precipitation.

A thorough knowledge on groundwater resources leads to its sustainable utilization, where the regional distribution of water resources, hydraulic characteristics of the aquifer and the regional and temporal variations of the water quality are important factors. The recharge, the natural runoff and groundwater abstraction rates are indispensable information for sustainable groundwater management. The data required for a resource assessment is obtained by hydrogeological exploration, observations and measurements at boreholes and wells, geophysical investigations, airborne geophysical surveys, satellite imagery, and meteorological observations. Methods such as geoelectrics, airborne electromagnetics, and transient electromagnetics are also applied for groundwater exploration.

Food Biotechnology is a branch of food science in which modern biotechnological techniques are applied. Food biotechnology is a process scientists use to enhance the production, nutritional value, safety, and taste of foods. It can also benefit the environment by improving crops so that they need fewer pesticides. It covers topics ranging from molecular biology to industrial applications of food biotechnology for the improvement of food and food products. It meets the requirements for careers in the dynamic food sector as well as for research and development. The program focuses on aspects of production, composition and design of food products. Majors: product design & functionality; food innovation and marketing; food biotechnology; and dairy science. The course touches on topics related to food ingredients, fermentations, bioterrorism, FDA regulations, and rapid detection techniques of foodborne pathogens, chemical senses, nutrigenomics and nutraceuticals.

Logistics sector needs professionals for managing demand, procurement, transportation, production, warehouse, retail, and distribution operations. Considering this rising requirement of the market, the program was launched in the year 2011. It intends to provide support to industry 4.0 with a balanced content on Procurement, Materials Management, Global Supply-Chain Management, Multi-Modal Transportation, Retail, Logistics Information System, and Spreadsheet Modelling.

B.Tech computer science with specialization in computational stability imparts knowledge on how to apply techniques from computer science and related disciplines to help manage the balance of environmental, economic and societal needs for sustainable development. In this course, students study recent computational approaches that have contributed to addressing sustainability topics related to biodiversity, climate, environment, urban design, transportation, buildings and others.

This program is designed for students who want not only a sound consolidation of their learnings at undergraduate level in Physics, but also need specialized training in Electronics catering to the future requirements of the industry. It has courses from analog and digital electronics and communication systems. The program is destined to transform the students into professionals ready to participate in industrial revolution 4.0. In this a student learns about various techniques and procedures involved in food packaging. This subject helps a student to understand the importance of processing of various kinds of food products. This course covers both practical and theoretical aspects of food industry.

The Integrated B.Tech Food Technology-M.B.A program helps students save one year, as it is a 5-year program in which students get both B.Tech Food Technology Degree as well as MBA degree and it is as per UGC Norms. In this integrated program, the management of food processing, storage, transportation, distribution, marketing, sale, profit and loss calculations are imparted.
