Food industry is a major industry which requires highly skilled professionals to ensure the food quality, safety and worldwide management. The aim of this course is to provide in-depth study of various areas related to food technology that will enable the students to understand food composition, their nutritional, microbiological, processing and organoleptic aspects. This program also upskills the students in the processing techniques by in hand training in food industries. They are also taught about the importance of food plant sanitation, international and national food laws and regulations applicable in food industry.

M.Sc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics provides concepts related to human nutrition and dietetic practice. It develops advances skills to pursue research in the field of human nutrition and dietetics. The programme is suitable for those who have patience and genuine concern for fellow beings, planning & administrative skills, organizational ability and good communication skills. The aspirant should have an interest in food preparation and should be capable of creating awareness regarding health improvement, prevention of diseases and control of existing ailments.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry is an interdisciplinary field concerned with the design and synthesis of different types of drug from the biologically active molecules. The field of pharmaceutical chemistry is very dynamic and combines a broad range of scientific disciplines such as drug discovery development and also therapies.  It provides students with a thorough understanding of drug mechanism of action, structure activity relationship (SAR), acid base and physico- chemical properties and absorption, metabolism and toxicity profiles.

M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry is a 2 year, post-graduate degree program involve aspects related to the general chemistry, organic chemistry, synthesis and analysis with different analytical techniques for their characterizations as well as their utilization.

The main objective is to develop skilled pharmaceutical chemists, with a thorough understanding and knowledge of drug and their action and utilize their potential to work efficiently and effectively in an interdisciplinary atmosphere.

The MBA programme is designed to match the needs and requirements of industry and commerce and to fulfil the aspirations of future managers. Managers need to be perceptive, thoughtful, and flexible to manage their internal and external environment. They have to be proactive, versatile and have the knowledge and skill to explore new market and opportunities. They need to provide practical, workable solution to a range of complex problems. The complexity of operations raises the need for the generalists as well as specialists, having knowledge of particular functions like Finance, HR, International Business and Marketing, Retail and Event Management.

Cyber security is the practice of protecting computers, servers, electronic systems, networks, mobiles as well as data from malicious attacks. It involves protecting software, hardware, as well as user’s data. It also helps prevent cybercriminals from gaining access to various devices connected through networks. It also trains how to monitor systems and networks for intrusions. In view of that Uttaranchal University offers BCA – Cyber Security, a three-year undergraduate program designed to fulfil the requirements of the IT industries.

BCA- cyber security program focuses on providing relevant skills to establish sample collection techniques from different sources that help students to profile threat actors. The program includes courses like Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Risk Management, Law of Cyber Security, Security Professional Ethics, Principles of Information System Security, Paradigm of Ethical Hacking, Information System Security Planning and Audits, Python programming, etc

BBA program gives the students strategic outlook on problems of business organization, management & solutions to them. The BBA program seeks to provide to the management trainees the understanding of the theory, practice of management and the required knowledge and skills to succeed in the business world. The degree programme is intended for those who wish to acquire business and managerial knowledge and skills. The curriculum provides the students with a strategic perspective on contemporary issues in management. The academic curriculum of this 3 years programme involves comprehensive learning that would produce managers who are well equipped with technical expertise and practical knowledge relevant to today’s globalized environment. This program provides the students with practical orientation and broad specialization in marketing, finance, information systems, human resource management and international business. The programme has extensive in-house practical training, with audio-visual support, class room session, case studies, seminar session, summer training and industrial visits.

M.Sc. Biotechnology is a two year program spread into four semesters. The curriculum comprises of comprise core courses, open elective and discipline specific electives. Core courses provide conceptual knowledge and experimental learning pertaining to basic and applied field of biotechnology through different teaching learning methods. Open electives target skill enhancement and discipline elective courses are specifically designed to provide skills pertaining to application of biotechnological tools and techniques in various fields including industry, agriculture, environment, health and others. Industrial visits, participation in seminar/conference, training programs impart additional technical skills. A crucial component of fourth semester is dissertation; each student is allotted a supervisor to conduct research in the field of interest of the student. The objective of dissertation is to impart skill to design and develop protocols, conduct experiment, interpret data and comprehend scientific writing skills.

The B.Sc (Agri.) programme is an undergraduate programme related to the field of agriculture. The focus of this study is on agriculture. Under this programme, students are trained about the most modern methods used in fertilizers; plant biotechnology. The programme apart from training in scientific skills also trains in marketing skills of agriculture products. Under this study, the students are exposed to real life rural settings with the aim to develop a sense of awareness among the students so that they can understand the problems of farmers and rural people.

One year programme in Hotel Management provides a strong understanding of different functional and managerial aspects related to Hotel Management. The demand for hotel management professionals is expected to grow more with the increasing number of hotels being set up in India and all over the world.

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering program offers some of the important courses in the field of Mechanics, Materials, Manufacturing, Design, and Thermal and so on. The laboratory components include Mechanical Workshops, CNC Lab, Thermo and Fluid Labs, as well as software learning relevant to the industry. Teaching – learning pedagogy involves practical learning through field visits, experiential learning through internships, and interaction with experts through series of Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops and Conferences.
